ABC is still trying to fill that Tuesdays at 10pm timeslot. Many ABC shows have been given that timeslot and they’ve all been cancelled — Killer Women, Body of Proof and Lucky 7, to name just a few. So, how’s the new Forever TV show doing? Will it break the trend or be cancelled as well?
On the Forever TV show, New York City’s star medical examiner is Doctor Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd). He can ascertain things that most can not because of his vast experience — he’s been alive for 200 years but can’t figure out how or why. The rest of the cast includes Alana de la Garza, Lorraine Toussaint, Donnie Keshawarz, Joel David Moore, and Judd Hirsch.
The series got off to an okay start, following the season premiere of Dancing with the Stars on a Monday night. It attracted a 1.7 rating with 8.59 million viewers. The following night, in its permanent timeslot, the demo rose slightly but viewership dropped.

In week two, the ratings tumbled to a 1.4 in the demo with 5.69 million. In week three, they fell even lower and last week’s installment hit new lows with a 1.1 demo rating and 4.81 million viewers.
Just four weeks into the season and this show is already in serious trouble. ABC needs a successful show to fill the Tuesdays at 10pm timeslot and it’s clear that Forever isn’t the answer to their prayers. It’s unlikely that they’ll order any installments beyond their initial 13 episode order.
Will all of the episodes air? I suspect that ABC will release the six remaining episodes — probably before the holidays. The network may find other programming to air in the Tuesdays at 10pm timeslot during at least some of November sweeps however.
Either way, unless there’s a miraculous turnaround in the ratings, Forever is as good as cancelled. It’s yet another TV show about an immortal that will see its life cut short.
But, what do you think? Do you like this show? Would you like to see Forever cancelled or renewed for a second season?
11/7 update: ABC has ordered nine additional episodes.
i live in uk and i have got to say i agree with all the things that have been posted about the show forever,in my opinion the show ranks with the likes of charmed that ran for eight seasons hope this will be the same!!!!
I enjoy the show and would hate to see it go and be left with the likes of two girls working in a coffee shop who have a horse in their apartment. Besides the characters and the plot of each episode I like that I invariably learn something. If anyone out there is interested, try Murder on the Homefront. It’s a good 90 film out of England.set in 1940. I think the character in this film who plays the forensic pathologist was the role model for the Henry Morgan character.
ABC should keep “Forever”, it is the best show that they have put on in years. Who gives a —- about the 18 to 49 TV watchers. Give some credit to the other age categories because they not only have the money to buy the products that the stations advertise, but they have also been around the block a number of times and have seen good shows come and bad shows remain on TV. Listen to an intellectual older person this time and kindly keep “Forever” on even if ABC moves it to a different time and day. Let ABC… Read more »

I love the TV show Forever!!! I look forward to watching it every week. It is one of the best new shows on television. Please don’t cancel.
Forever is one of the best shows since its start. The premise is curious and the characters are engaging. The mysteries are well conceived.
I love Forever! I think the only reason it isn’t more well known is because marketing for it isn’t strong. (Can’t go anywhere without seeing ads for that Walking Dead show)
A little more time, a little more faith, and Forever will capture more attention just like it grabbed mine!
Please keep the show. It’s my favorite show off any show on channel or time. If it’s not right for the slot and ABC has problems competing with other shows doesn’t make it not a hit. It is a great show.
Forever: One of the few shows that is actually well written and doesn’t insult its audience. Which is why, ABC, you need to give this show at least two and a half seasons to catch on. And catch on, it will.
Please do NOT cancel the TV show “Forever!” It’s one of my favorite new series! And with all the flops of 2014, we need this great new show to stay. Come on, ABC! Wake up! Renew Forever now!
I love the show Forever – please don’t cancel it.
I hope all these responses are helping. I have been reading the comments; we all love the tv show Forever. I hope this campaign will help save the show. When we will know if the show is picked up For next season.
