TV show description:
A fantasy crime drama, this TV series follows New York City’s star medical examiner — Doctor Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd), handsome man with a secret past. No matter how hard he tries, Henry can’t age even a single day — he’s immortal. He doesn’t know much about what happens when he “dies” except that everything on him disappears and he reemerges in a body of water, naked.
Henry doesn’t just study the dead to solve criminal cases however. He does it to try to solve the mystery that has eluded him for 200 years — the reason for his own inexplicable immortality.
Henry’s long life has given him remarkable observation skills which impresses his new partner, Detective Jo Martinez (Alana De La Garza). This piques her curiosity about who he is. Each new case and their budding friendship reveal layers of Henry’s long and colorful past. Jo’s sharp, no-nonsense instincts and her ability to close difficult cases have given her a tough-as-nails reputation on the force, despite also dealing with the untimely loss of her husband.
Lucas Wan (Joel David Moore) is a twenty-something self-proclaimed “artisan of death” and Henry’s worshipful assistant. He considers mortuary science an art, and Henry its Picasso. After transplanting to New York City from rural Ohio, Lucas worked up the courage to introduce himself to the star medical examiner at a crime scene.
A Brooklyn native, Detective Hanson (Donnie Keshawarz) works alongside Jo and has worked his way up to the NYPD’s elite squad of homicide detectives. He’s a family man who lives with his wife and two children in Queens. Unafraid of bending the rules to get the job done, Hanson is sometimes skeptical of Henry’s talent but often admires its effectiveness.
No one knows Henry better than his best friend and confidant, an antique shop owner named Abe (Judd Hirsch). The keeper of Henry’s immortality secret, Abe’s “carpe diem” philosophy inspires Henry to get more in touch with the beauty of living. Abe is not immortal but he is determined to make the most out of every moment of life.
Episode #22 — The Last Death of Henry Morgan
Henry and Adam have been on a long, unrelenting collision course, which is about to come to a head – possibly bringing about one man’s death – with only Jo standing in the way. Henry and Jo’s murder investigation into a museum worker’s death centers on a priceless missing ancient dagger, which not only ended the life of Julius Caesar, but also killed Adam the first time.
Meanwhile, Adam knows that there is something that Henry fears more than death – that Jo might discover his mystery. The two men tangle in a tumultuous game-changing confrontation.
First aired: May 5, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like the Forever TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
I just hate this! I love this show – one of my top 3…
Please don’t cancel, “Forever!” I told hubby that this show was to good and would end up being cancelled. It seems like when they get a quality show on tv, they end up getting rid of it every time. Please at least bring it back so that the one’s who love the show can at least get some final closure, on “Forever.”
I can’t believe once again ABC is cancelling a wonderful show, it’s what FOX was a few years back, one season and cancel it. Look what happened to them, no one wanted to watch them anymore. ABC is really heading in that direction. You keep the crap on and cancel a very entertaining show. Really how many Bachelors do we have to see. Keep it really ABC and renew Forever, let the people who actually watch the show decided.
This was a great show and it shows me why ABC continues to fail with new shows. I am so tired of getting into season 1 of a show and then it being canceled. Maybe Forever can be picked up by HULU or NETFLIX, because pretty soon I’m just going to watch their shows. Everything seems to be canceled once you get into the show in season 1. Most shows don’t catch on until season 2 and they never give the shows a chance by just canceling it after season 1. Also, I don’t know who is watch the show… Read more »
WHY!! This is one of the best shows I have ever seen! Give it another chance. It’s not right that people record it and watch it and it doesn’t get counted as being watched! We record and watch. Both my mother and I. Come on!!!!
Show was great there was still a lot of stories yet to be told. Should have got renewed a shame that it was not given chance to live up to it’s name Forever!!
This was a good show and should have been renewed.
Please do not cancel Forever it’s the best show on ach.
Best show, change your mind and reconsider bringing it back. It is a great show and great cast!!!
Finally found a show that was well written with a great cast – my favorite show. Leave on the crap shows and take off the good ones – makes no sense! Please don’t cancel Forever!
Forever is a show that has what other shows doesn’t. It keeps the viewers entertained. It keeps viewers on the edge of their seat. It has viewers digging to find answers. It keeps viewers an emotional trance. It keeps the viewers wanting more. ABC has cancelled the show due to the minuscule amount of people that know about it. You could ask anyone about the show and they would say that the show is more than excellent. It’s different. How many shows have accomplished what Forever has? Why does barely anyone know about the show? The show premieres on Tuesdays… Read more »
Oh please don’t cancel this show…..Love Love this show, so refreshing, and different from the same old stuff on tv…I love the story line…..Its just taking off, other shows on abc I don’t even watch ……reconsider pleaseeeeee tears 🙁
Can’t believe they’re canceling “Forever”! The cast and storylines were terrific, and it was a new and original concept! I am so tired of investing in a show to have it canceled! They should decide before the season finale what they’re going to do to give the audience closure, maybe taping 2 endings!
Meanwhile they renew “Galivant” which was awful!
I am so disappointed they are canceling Forever I LOVE that show its one of my favorites. They should take a better look at what to elimate. They can get rid of some of the reality shows as far as I’m concerned most of them are stupid.
Cancelling this unique and entertaining show will prove to be a mistake of Star Trek proportions … Reconsider and place in a better lineup location to increase viewership .. I’m confident it will catch on
Forever is a great show and now is not the time to cancel it. The storyline is picking up.
