TV show description:
A fantasy crime drama, this TV series follows New York City’s star medical examiner — Doctor Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd), handsome man with a secret past. No matter how hard he tries, Henry can’t age even a single day — he’s immortal. He doesn’t know much about what happens when he “dies” except that everything on him disappears and he reemerges in a body of water, naked.
Henry doesn’t just study the dead to solve criminal cases however. He does it to try to solve the mystery that has eluded him for 200 years — the reason for his own inexplicable immortality.
Henry’s long life has given him remarkable observation skills which impresses his new partner, Detective Jo Martinez (Alana De La Garza). This piques her curiosity about who he is. Each new case and their budding friendship reveal layers of Henry’s long and colorful past. Jo’s sharp, no-nonsense instincts and her ability to close difficult cases have given her a tough-as-nails reputation on the force, despite also dealing with the untimely loss of her husband.
Lucas Wan (Joel David Moore) is a twenty-something self-proclaimed “artisan of death” and Henry’s worshipful assistant. He considers mortuary science an art, and Henry its Picasso. After transplanting to New York City from rural Ohio, Lucas worked up the courage to introduce himself to the star medical examiner at a crime scene.
A Brooklyn native, Detective Hanson (Donnie Keshawarz) works alongside Jo and has worked his way up to the NYPD’s elite squad of homicide detectives. He’s a family man who lives with his wife and two children in Queens. Unafraid of bending the rules to get the job done, Hanson is sometimes skeptical of Henry’s talent but often admires its effectiveness.
No one knows Henry better than his best friend and confidant, an antique shop owner named Abe (Judd Hirsch). The keeper of Henry’s immortality secret, Abe’s “carpe diem” philosophy inspires Henry to get more in touch with the beauty of living. Abe is not immortal but he is determined to make the most out of every moment of life.
Episode #22 — The Last Death of Henry Morgan
Henry and Adam have been on a long, unrelenting collision course, which is about to come to a head – possibly bringing about one man’s death – with only Jo standing in the way. Henry and Jo’s murder investigation into a museum worker’s death centers on a priceless missing ancient dagger, which not only ended the life of Julius Caesar, but also killed Adam the first time.
Meanwhile, Adam knows that there is something that Henry fears more than death – that Jo might discover his mystery. The two men tangle in a tumultuous game-changing confrontation.
First aired: May 5, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like the Forever TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
RENEW
please don’t cancel as it was one of the best shows on TV – if you do not bring it back I will no longer watch anything else on this network…….
I really Like this show it has the right amount of comedy, drama and suspense. Just the right amount and there are still a lot of ways to change it up. DON’T CANCEL!!! I have talked to so many people who love this show too.
It really makes me made when there are really good shows like this people go and cancel them. Please find a way to renew it!!!!
i loved this show. i think with all the dvr recording of shows people do there isn’t a proper presentation of how many people are actually watching. It’s a shame they cancelled it bring that it’s one of the higher quality programs that aired. Always kept you on your toes, and I loved how Henry could solve anything. Will really miss it!
“Forever” is the only network show I watched last season. I even missed a whole season of “Castle” and “Bones” (but I will binge watch some weekend). The only thing that was starting to gross me out was the notion of Abe being his son. Also, they could have used filters or softer lighting on Cuba Gooding Jr, or cast Denzel or a Denzel-like actor. That also turned me off. But these are nothing I could not get past. I hope I see Ioan, Alana, and Joel again.
It had stiff completion at that time slot. I wish it were being renewed. Perhaps the network will change its mind.
We are not happy with the cancellation of “Forever”! We always looked forward to watching the show! It was an interesting concept, with great stories!
I really enjoyed watching “Forever”. It was a mix of mystery, csi, romance, wit and suspense. Great writing and acting. I hate that they cancelled it. Wish they would give it another shot!
I look forward each week to Forever, there are few shows that are so entertaining, I am
deeply disappointed to see it cancelled. Not much to look forward to next season. There wasn’t even a conclusion to the story. How could you do this and leave everyone hanging.
I am very very very disappointed that Forever has been cancelled, There are very few shows to enjoy now a days with all this reality crap taking over. I looked forward to watching Forever every week. Please bring it back!
I am agree with both of you, i mean ABC is canellingall te good programs, “Forever”, “resurecion”. ABc what are you doing?, this are the best shows .
I have never wrote about a show before but, I was so shocked to hear abc cancelled “Forever” that is my favorite show love to watch it and I have only started watching it from mid season. I hope they bring it back or some one like netflix or another network picks it up and continues the series. I wanna see what happens with henry and joe getting closer, if he tells her his secret, does she believe him, she stay with him, will the history flash backs continue. what about abe and every thing else
This series is entertaining, intelligent and very well presented not to mention great acting. DO NOT CANCEL
I have really enjoyed this show. It is one of few shows my husband and I both watch. Really wish they hadn’t cancelled it. Hope someone saves it.
I a horribly disappointed at the cancellation of “Forever”. It is a wonderful, unique, fascinating show. Now there will be nothing in its time slot on any network worth watching. I’m shocked at the mindless comedies and reality shows that stay on and so many intelligent shows go by the wayside. Other than DWTS and Castle, I have little reason to watch ABC any more.
