What’s This TV Show About?
A Freeform family drama, The Fosters stars Teri Polo, Sherri Saum, Hayden Byerly, Noah Centineo, David Lambert, Maia Mitchell, and Cierra Ramirez. The story centers on Stef Foster (Polo), a dedicated police officer, and school administrator Lena Adams (Saum). An interracial lesbian couple, Stef and Lena are raising a blended family of foster, biological, and adopted kids, in San Diego.
Season Five Ratings
The fifth season of The Fosters averaged a 0.25 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 619,000 viewers. Compared to season four, that’s down by 27% and down by 23%, respectively. Learn how The Fosters stacks up against the other Freeform TV shows.

Telly’s Take
Though the ratings are still positive, I wouldn’t be surprised if this TV series ends with season five, and that nice 100 episode sized syndication package. Remember what happened with Switched at Birth. Although its fourth season received higher ratings than season four of The Fosters, eventually, Freeform announced that family drama would end with season five. I’ll keep an eye on the Nielsens, so subscribe for free updates on The Fosters cancellation and renewal news.

Return the Fosters to what made it enjoyable to watch. It’s not the same since S3 ended. Family? Doesn’t seem like a family. It was better then ,but if it’s just more of S4/S5, then end it!

Yes, please renew. I realize this season ends with 100th episode, but lets shoot for 200. It is fantastic show that tackles life without the rose colored glasses

Please do not cancel The Fosters! It is one of the FEWshows we can watch together as a family where we don’t have to worry about the language used. The content opens up discussions about life and people’s differences. We love the sensitivity of the show, especially how they do not label who is right and who is wrong.
