What’s This TV Show About?
A Freeform family drama, The Fosters stars Teri Polo, Sherri Saum, Hayden Byerly, Noah Centineo, David Lambert, Maia Mitchell, and Cierra Ramirez. The story centers on Stef Foster (Polo), a dedicated police officer, and school administrator Lena Adams (Saum). An interracial lesbian couple, Stef and Lena are raising a blended family of foster, biological, and adopted kids, in San Diego.
Season Five Ratings
The fifth season of The Fosters averaged a 0.25 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 619,000 viewers. Compared to season four, that’s down by 27% and down by 23%, respectively. Learn how The Fosters stacks up against the other Freeform TV shows.

Telly’s Take
Though the ratings are still positive, I wouldn’t be surprised if this TV series ends with season five, and that nice 100 episode sized syndication package. Remember what happened with Switched at Birth. Although its fourth season received higher ratings than season four of The Fosters, eventually, Freeform announced that family drama would end with season five. By far the best TV show on. The cast is brilliantly portrayed and the stories/relationships are so spot on in today’s world. Come on – let’s keep The Fosters going!
we need this show. it is based on things that happen in real life. I really enjoy this. sad to say these things happen in foster care all the time. and people can learn from here that they don’t have to take the abuse. that they can reach out for help. I love the fact that they are a loving family of all races. and that we can live in a calm and loving world
Please keep the Fosters on Netflix I love the cast so much and the t.v show Fosters bring me so much happiness in my life it truly does please dont take the fosters away they feel like family and its just a t.v show to some people but to me they are my family threw my t.v lol I would honestly be so hurt theres no other t.v show id want to watch more than I want to watch the fosters theres so many questions i have
I’ve been watching the fosters for sooooo long now and I would hate to see that it would be cancelled. Honestly, whenever I would be bored or said I would watch the Fosters to cheer me up. I would be sooooo heartbroken if the Fosters was cancelled. Plz don’t do this to all of the fans who truly loveeeee the Fosters. My best friend and I always watch the Fosters. It’s our favorite show and we bond and connect even more than we already do. So plz plz plz plz plzzzzzzz DONT CANCEL THE FOSTERS.
I just finished binge watching all five seasons on Netflix’s. I love this show! It would break my heart if they cancelled it!
I love this show. The Fosters is the reason I downloaded the app on my iPad. I am constantly checking to see if the new episodes have started. Please do not cancel this show. I’d be devastated.
Please renew The Fosters for Season 6! As a psychologist, mother of a blended family (with bisexual daughters), and as a sister with adopted inter-racial siblings, I find this show very realistic. I can see how it reaches such a diverse audience and helps those who are suffering to heal.
This show is the most realistic freeform show there is. Having a gay MARRIED couple with adopted kids is an amazing way for people to see the world differently and In an amazing way. The struggles the teens face, with sex, drugs, or even friendships is something all people go through. This is hands down an AMAZING show that should not end yet. I really need season 6 to come out!!I LOVE IT SO MUCH!! On the last seen they put on Netflix was a cliff hanger I was so mad when I realized I was done with it! I miss The Fosters so much!
