What’s This TV Show About?
A Freeform family drama, The Fosters stars Teri Polo, Sherri Saum, Hayden Byerly, Noah Centineo, David Lambert, Maia Mitchell, and Cierra Ramirez. The story centers on Stef Foster (Polo), a dedicated police officer, and school administrator Lena Adams (Saum). An interracial lesbian couple, Stef and Lena are raising a blended family of foster, biological, and adopted kids, in San Diego.
Season Five Ratings
The fifth season of The Fosters averaged a 0.25 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 619,000 viewers. Compared to season four, that’s down by 27% and down by 23%, respectively. Learn how The Fosters stacks up against the other Freeform TV shows.
On January 3, 2018, Freeform ordered a spin-off and announced The Fosters ends with a three night event. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Though the ratings are still positive, I wouldn’t be surprised if this TV series ends with season five, and that nice 100 episode sized syndication package. Remember what happened with Switched at Birth. Although its fourth season received higher ratings than season four of The Fosters, eventually, Freeform announced that family drama would end with season five. I’ll keep an eye on the Nielsens, so subscribe for free updates on The Fosters cancellation and renewal news.

Hello, I think you should renew The Fosters. Not sure about other’s opinion, but Callie changed my life, the way i see things, etc. I need to see how she end up, i don’t think i could ever live in peace if i won’t know. I knou i’m creep, but i love The Fosters.

Please continue the show! You did not end it properly – it just stopped!!! How about more shows and if it needs to end then do so with a proper ending to a series! This show is awesome! It should continue!

I love this series’s please do a 6th season!
Getting tired of Callie as she jumps from one cause to another. She never thinks of the consequences of her actions or how it will affect other people. Callie is poison. Also shoving DACA in our faces is a disservice to fans of the show. Most of us want an end to DACA and ALL illegals deported. I haven’t missed an episode in 5 years, but after this weeks episode have taken it out of my ‘One Pass”.(auto record). Series need to end. No longer about a family. It’s like watching the news, which is bad enough.

I just don’t get why you would cancel a show that is really good
It’s not to often do I see a series that shows the trials and tribulations of foster children. Please keep this series going. I have learned so much about adopted children their thoughts, their feelings, and the problems of the parents that adopt kids.
I think the fosters should stay on for a 6th season it is a great family show

I love love love this show and would be sad to see it cancelled. It was a show based on real life events and a great show for teens to learn from.
I love the Foster’s this sh is truly amazing please renew and please bring back the same cast……….. I have children who also sat down and joined me in watching the Foster’s we saw it on Netflix and fell in love with the show very powerful show
