What’s This TV Show About?
A Freeform family drama, The Fosters stars Teri Polo, Sherri Saum, Hayden Byerly, Noah Centineo, David Lambert, Maia Mitchell, and Cierra Ramirez. The story centers on Stef Foster (Polo), a dedicated police officer, and school administrator Lena Adams (Saum). An interracial lesbian couple, Stef and Lena are raising a blended family of foster, biological, and adopted kids, in San Diego.
Season Five Ratings
The fifth season of The Fosters averaged a 0.25 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 619,000 viewers. Compared to season four, that’s down by 27% and down by 23%, respectively. Learn how The Fosters stacks up against the other Freeform TV shows.
On January 3, 2018, Freeform ordered a spin-off and announced The Fosters ends with a three night event. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Though the ratings are still positive, I wouldn’t be surprised if this TV series ends with season five, and that nice 100 episode sized syndication package. Remember what happened with Switched at Birth. Although its fourth season received higher ratings than season four of The Fosters, eventually, Freeform announced that family drama would end with season five. Please do not cancel The Fosters. It is one show that that I want to see alot more of. I love the characters and the plot. I’m not ready for it to end at season 5 or 6 for that matter! Please don’t cancel!!
PLEASE KEEP YHE SHOW GOING!! I absolutely love THE FOSTERS!! It’s such an awesome show that no only talks about some of the issues that are going on in today’s news but it also educates you on some of the stuff that you may have not known about!! It also shows that not all people are selfish and self-centered and there’s is still people in the world care about others and are willing to go the extra mile no matter what the consequences are and shows you how much family really does matter blood or not!!
Keep the show, it offers so much of todays issues that need to be brought to light. I LOVE THIS SHOW!

I really loved this show. it had all the controversial issues out there today. please do season six, you just cant leave us hanging like that.
They can’t just stop midstory! Nothing makes me angrier than an unresolved plot when a series ends. 5 seasons of building up to that (hopefully not) fatal moment for the central character. This show is so well written and thought provoking. I certainly hope it is renewed.
