The end is near. In a recent Digital Spy article, Fresh Meat actress Kimberly Nixon said the fourth and final season of the British Channel 4 dramedy will “bittersweet.”
Created by Sam Bain, Fresh Meat stars Nixon, Jack Whitehall, Zawe Ashton, Greg McHugh, Charlotte Ritchie, and Joe Thomas as students living together at a fictional Manchester university.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Nixon said the end of the series will most definitely be an end:
It’s still very funny [and] it’s still the same characters, but they’re heading towards zero. It’s coming to an end for them, and it’s coming to an end for us – and I think the parallel really works. It’s heading towards a finale, which the other series didn’t have – they were always open at the end. But this is the end, so that has a kind of definitive-ness to it.”
Digital Spy also adds that there are no plans at present for a film adaptation of the series.
The final season premieres on Channel 4 on February 22nd.
