As expected, there won’t be a second season for Gang Related. FOX has cancelled the summer cop drama after one season of 13 episodes.
On Gang Related, a police detective (Ramon Rodriguez) is torn between his allegiance to his job and co-workers and the gang and crime family that raised him. The cast also includes Terry O’Quinn, RZA, Jay Hernandez, Sung Kang, Inbar Lavi, Cliff Curtis, and Shantel VanSanten.

The series debuted at the end of May to a 0.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.94 million viewers.
That was a poor showing right out of the gate and the ratings got even worse as the weeks progressed.
It ended up being one of FOX’s worst-performing summer series. Despite having a small but loyal audience, it was expected that the network would cancel the show.
The final episode, which aired August 14th, left plenty of things unresolved.

I wish they hadn’t cancelled the show. I actually really liked watching it.
What a joke! This is was the best show ever!! There needs to be more! Not cancel it !!
This is a horrible decision. .. I don’t know anyone who saw it and didnt like it. I had put many people on it after the season ended who watched it on demand. Did they count those people? ?? I loved the Sons of Anarchy and this was a great replacement for it. .. PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!!

Had no idea Gang Related was canceled! My husband is going to flip! Fox….what were you thinking! Action packed for sure…. felt like watching a Micheal Bay movie! Diverse cast… To bad it was so short lived. Was totally looking forward to the second season. It was different than what’s currently on tv. And to be honest we didn’t really watch Fox shows to begin with…with the exception of Sleepy Hollow. Which you guys will probably cancel that too….#loyalfan#getittogetherfox

If you advertised it better more people would watch. This was one of the BEST shows on television, any day, any time. Super sad it’s not coming back! Seems like all the good shows get cancelled… give them a chance. Give them a little advertisement so they have a fighting chance.
Exactly! the advertising was horrible! This is the only show I watched on the FOX channel station and now you cancel =( SAD all the great shows are being cancelled & being replaced with reality TV. It’s bulls!!!

I can’t believe FOX did that! What a horrible decision! This was a great show. Fox loves all of it’s mindless shows and the audience they bring and that is why the ratings were low. The same people who watched Gang Related are watching Gracepoint but when that ends in 2 weeks there will be no reason left to watch this network. Sad. Please re-think this…

I absolutely agree. FOX is comfortable cancelling Gang Related because it centers around Latinos. I’ve posted my opinion many times. There was not enough promotion of the show, but everyone to whom I made a recommendation, LOVED IT! How refreshing to have had a wonderful plot with a diverse cast, great writing, and superb acting. There was room for so much more of a storyline to be developed. How disappointing!!! By the way, FOX has already been promoting its new series, Empire. I was very disappointed on their decision. I was so excited to watch
more I looked up when the next season would start the same day
the last one ended. It’s not right. Most things on tv are talk shows and
court. Why can’t we keep something on that we like. Just like
Dark Angel, they didn’t finish that after 2 seasons, type of duty after 3.
Their are even ending Bones. They should bring back gang related.
I don’t care for Gotham, they can put it in its spot.
Maybe get rid of some reality shows our reruns of reruns of other shows
hoping this show comes back on, either fox or another network. amazing suspenseful show. hubby and I both love it! (I think the rating was just due to summer and not marketed properly)
