Goliath has a new director. Deadline reports Walter Hill has been tapped to helm two episodes for season two of the Amazon TV series.
The drama stars Billy Bob Thornton as Billy McBride, a washed up lawyer who takes on the major corporate firm he helped create. The show’s cast also includes Maria Bello, William Hurt, Olivia Thirlby, Sarah Wynter, and Molly Parker. Prime Video has already renewed the show for a second season.
Hill, who won an Emmy for his work on the Deadwood pilot, will direct Goliath‘s season two premiere and finale. Amazon has not yet set a premiere date for the new season.
What do you think? Have you seen Goliath? Will you watch season two?
Season 2 is a huge disappointment compared to the first season. The first two episodes appeared to be laying some decent foundational character and plot development, and then everything went down hill dramatically after that. Plot details became extremely improbable, dialogue vapid, ugly stylistic chopiness, problems with awkward transitions, and many of previous season’s characters having no real purpose in the storyline. Thorton’s talent is criminally squandered.
The second season is a masterpiece. The seventh episode is classic tv. What I find interesting is the show ended with Billy and his daughter looking the ocean while Bosch ended with him and his daughter looking at the desert. Will there be a tie in?
Can’t wait for season 2!! Told all my friends and family to watch. Billy Bob is a remarkable actor!
Goliath was an amazing story of the David and Goliath proportions but using current themes and current times with the little guy verse the giant corporation. It’s a feel good story for the 2016 year. I would gladly pay for another year of Amazon Prime just to see a season two of Goliath. Goliath is the best thing on Amazon or Netflix with the exception of Longmire. Am I allowed to say that?
Yes! So excited to hear Season 2 of Goliath coming! I will definitely watch and highly recommend. My favorite new show since Boston Legal, but grittier!
