Are you ready for some more Good Times? The cast of long running CBS comedy is ready to update its fans with a reunion movie, and they are using Kickstarter to find the project.
The reunion movie will reunite cast members Jimmie Walker, John Amos, BernNadette Stannis, Ralph Carter and Ja’Net DuBois. The movie is doing without the support of Sony or Norman Lear, but a lawyer involved with the project was confident that the project would move forward if the funding comes through.
According to TV Guide, Shaun Weiss said, “”In the case of Good Times, there is going to be a comparison, but it’s not an infringement of copyright. What we are doing is bringing a new era into the cast. The characters have never been copyrighted or trademarked.”
So far the Kickstarter project has only raised $2,000. The goal is set for one million dollars. There are 16 days left to raise the necessary funding.

I would like to see a Good Times Reunion movie.
Don’t do it. Esther Rolle died in 1986, so they could say she died on the show, but the character of James Evans died on the show, although John Amos is still alive. How would that make sense if he is in the reunion movie? Let it live on in syndication.
