After 13 years of movies and TV show episodes, magic is leaving the town of Middleton. Hallmark Channel has decided to end the Good Witch series so there won’t be an eighth season. The series finale airs on Sunday, July 25th.
A fantasy comedy-drama series, Good Witch stars Catherine Bell, James Denton, Sarah Power, Catherine Disher, Kylee Evans, Katherine Barrell, Marc Bendavid, and Scott Cavalheiro. Set in the town of Middleton, the show follows Cassandra “Cassie” Nightingale (Bell). She’s the owner of a shop called Bell, Book & Candle and is married to Dr. Sam Radford (Denton). Like her daughter Grace, Cassie has the gift of enchanted insight and magical intuition. The velvet pouches of soil discovered by Cassie, Abigail (Power), and Joy (Barrell) at the end of season six mark the start of a new Merriwick mystery for the cousins to unravel. This leads them to reflect on their pasts and how certain life events have impacted who they are now. Alongside the usual Middleton fun, season seven promises new relationships, personal challenges, and romance.
The seventh season of Good Witch is averaging a 0.12 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.53 viewers in the live+same day ratings. Compared to season six, that’s down by 29% in the demo and down by 18% in viewership. It’s one of Hallmark’s lowest-rated series but still does pretty well when compared to other cable dramas.
Here’s the series ending announcement from Hallmark:

The only series i watch. Please reconsider. Have been watching since the beginning and i pay extra to my cable company to get this show
Me too!
Stupid move Hallmark!!!
I’m disappointed. It’s the only show on Hallmark I still enjoy watching. This last season of When Calls the Heart was a huge disappointment that turned me off from watching future seasons of WCTH.
I agree the Good witch is one of the only shows on hallmark that i like. I ope they change there mind and bring it back for another season.
This is a huge loss……why…
It was really getting so much better. I love Sam and Martha.
I love the show! Been watching Good Witch from the beginning. I saw all of the movies, all of the seasons/episodes. Very disappointed it’s ending. I like all the characters, especially Catherine Bell. I set my alarm to make sure I don’t miss any of the shows. I also record them just in case I miss one. All good things come to an end. 🙁
My whole family was disappointed with season 6. We enjoyed the characters but the writing was poor.,
I agree Bonnie… They made too many unnecessary changes ..this year as well.
Am so disappointed that it is finishing. I’ve truly enjoyed all episodes and movies of good witch
I’ve enjoyed the series and movies for 13 years and I’m really sad that such a sweet, magical series has to come to an end!!!
I’m so sorry to hear this! I love The Good Witch and am always trying to guess what will happen next. Hallmark puts out a lot of movies, surely this series must be cheaper? And the movies aren’t always so great, if you know what I mean…
I am so disappointed! I love the show…and have watched from the beginning. It is a show the whole famiy can watch…I’ve all the Hallmark movies…but am getting tired of all the reruns…rethinking paying extra for the channel
I have no words . Thanks Hallmark. Enjoy the loss of viewers and have fun with the sitcoms
While I never watched it I thought another season might have happened.Fans will be disappointed.
NOOOOOOO! Very sad news. I love Good Witch.
So very sad to gear Good Witch is ending. Its my go to feel good show when I’m stressed i have rewatched the series more than a dozen times since discovering it after my mom passed away 6 years ago
Well-that was the last thing I could stomach watching on HALLMARK–so after July 25th I guess I am finished with it. I will be sorry to see GOOD WITCH go.
I agree. Couldn’t stand When Calls the Heart this season and won’t watch season 9 when it comes back next year. Good Witch is the only show I tune into every week. Hallmark needs to do something because the movies are so bland. It’s the same movie over and over again with different casts. At least with the older movies that are shown on Hallmark Drama aren’t as predictable. I still enjoy the Mystery movies on HMM though.
