After 13 years of movies and TV show episodes, magic is leaving the town of Middleton. Hallmark Channel has decided to end the Good Witch series so there won’t be an eighth season. The series finale airs on Sunday, July 25th.
A fantasy comedy-drama series, Good Witch stars Catherine Bell, James Denton, Sarah Power, Catherine Disher, Kylee Evans, Katherine Barrell, Marc Bendavid, and Scott Cavalheiro. Set in the town of Middleton, the show follows Cassandra “Cassie” Nightingale (Bell). She’s the owner of a shop called Bell, Book & Candle and is married to Dr. Sam Radford (Denton). Like her daughter Grace, Cassie has the gift of enchanted insight and magical intuition. The velvet pouches of soil discovered by Cassie, Abigail (Power), and Joy (Barrell) at the end of season six mark the start of a new Merriwick mystery for the cousins to unravel. This leads them to reflect on their pasts and how certain life events have impacted who they are now. Alongside the usual Middleton fun, season seven promises new relationships, personal challenges, and romance.
The seventh season of Good Witch is averaging a 0.12 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.53 viewers in the live+same day ratings. Compared to season six, that’s down by 29% in the demo and down by 18% in viewership. It’s one of Hallmark’s lowest-rated series but still does pretty well when compared to other cable dramas.
Here’s the series ending announcement from Hallmark:

Killed by the “writers”!
So very sad to hear Good Witch is being cancelled! I’ve so enjoyed seeing the development of each of the characters, and their relationships!
A great show, so it doesn’t surprise me. Every good show gets taken off.
This is so sad i have really looked forward and enjoyed this show. Hallmark keeps showing the same reruns of the same show on 2 of there channels and yet they choose to get rid of this show. The cast is amazing and it is show that keeps your interest. I wish they would rethink this or i wish network heads would read some of these comments tv is getting sadder and sadder it is a shame.
This was the best of the Hallmark series.
I’m hoping they at least give us a finally that’s worthy of all the years we watched the show and a wedding with Abigail and Donavan , what happens with Stephanie and Adam, and so many other cast members
I was just saying I wish this series would last forever then while watching a show a commercial came on and said series finale, I’m so disappointed it was one show that I loved so much I wish hallmark would reconsider there is so little on television that’s worth watching
Hallmark has changed so much in the last few years, it does not surprise me, I guess it will soon be another channel not worth watching.
That’s so sad, I love this show! Been watching Cassie since the first Good Witch movie. My only hope is maybe a spin-off of some kind.
This is heart breaking. I’ve watched all the movies and haven’t missed an episode. My Sunday nights are going to seem a little lonely without visiting my ‘friends ‘ in Middleton
❤Well Said! I Too Feel Like My Friends Will Be Moving On.
I Love The Good Witch! My family has watched it from the first movie.
Please reconsider canceling this amazing show!
I am very disappointed to say the least to hear the show is being canceled. This has been one of the shows we looked forward to for so many years. This is by far one of the best shows to air but that seems to be the way it goes nowadays. You really enjoy a good wholesale TV show like this then it gets canceled. So many shows on today are not appropriate for the entire family or relaxing such as this one and I for one am extremely grateful to have had the pleasure of allowing this to be… Read more »

So sad to hear the good witch is ending! Best show on TV.
Hallmark should reconsider this.
Viewership of the channel will drastically drop now.
