As we head into the Gossip Girl series finale tonight, TV Guide spoke with co-creator and executive producer Stephanie Savage. She talks about the emotional last episode and the challenges of keeping the identity of the mysterious blogger under wraps.
She said, “It’s been very nerve-wracking for me to try to keep it a secret but I’m excited for people to find out. The cast and crew were definitely excited when they found out so I’m hoping our fans have the same reaction.”
Savage also notes, “We always had an idea in our minds of who Gossip Girl was, which we needed to be able to tell our stories, but we were never sure if we were going to reveal that… We weren’t sure that that was something that the audience would want to know. Maybe they would like the idea of not knowing who Gossip Girl was.”
She discussed the character that she felt changed the most since the pilot and how some plans can change as the seasons roll by. Here’s the rest of interview.
What do you think? Do you think it’s important that Gossip Girl’s identity be revealed?
