FOX ORDERS THIRD SEASON OF HIT DRAMA “GOTHAM”
Paul Reubens (“Pee-Wee’s Big Holiday”) Begins Guest Arc on an All-New Episode Airing Monday, March 21
FOX has renewed hit drama series GOTHAM for a third season, it was announced today by David Madden, President, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company.
“It takes a very special team to tell the tales of GOTHAM. For the past two seasons, Bruno, Danny and John have masterfully honored the mythology of GOTHAM and brought it to life with depth, emotion and memorable high drama,” said Madden. “This incredibly talented cast has redefined these iconic characters for a new generation, and we couldn’t be more proud of this show.”
GOTHAM is averaging nine million Total Viewers across multi-platforms. GOTHAM ranks among this season’s Top 10 entertainment programs overall among Men 18-49, and places among the season’s Top 5 broadcast dramas among Men 18-49 and Men 18-34.
In the all-new episode “Wrath of the Villains: Mad Grey Dawn,” airing Monday, March 21 (8:00-9:01 PM ET/PT) on FOX, Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and Bullock (Donal Logue) investigate a trail of clues left in a museum robbery, which, unbeknownst to them, were left by Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) in a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse. Meanwhile, Gordon’s past comes back to haunt him when an anonymous person threatens to expose his hand in Galavan’s murder. Also, Penguin’s (Robin Lord Taylor) visit to some old friends leads him to meet his father, Elijah Van Dahl (guest star Paul Reubens), and Bruce (David Mazouz) practices his street smarts.
Later this season, villains continue to invade GOTHAM, as Arkham Asylum and the mysteries it holds take center stage, and Hugo Strange’s (guest star BD Wong) wild experiments create even more chaos and legendary villains.
GOTHAM is an origin story of the great DC Comics Super-Villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told. From executive producer/writer Bruno Heller (“The Mentalist,” “Rome”), GOTHAM follows one cop’s rise through a dangerously corrupt city teetering between good and evil, and chronicles the birth of one of the most popular super heroes of our time.
GOTHAM is based upon the characters from DC Comics and is produced by Warner Bros. Television. Executive producer Bruno Heller wrote the pilot, which was directed and executive-produced by Emmy Award nominee Danny Cannon (the “CSI” franchise, “Nikita”). John Stephens serves as an executive producer on the series. “Like” GOTHAM on Facebook at facebook.com/GOTHAMonFOX. Follow the series on Twitter @Gotham and join the discussion using #gotham. What do you think? Do you like the Gotham TV show? Are you glad that it’s been renewed for a third season or, do you think it should have been cancelled instead?
I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!!
Iam happy that they havent canceld gotham its excellent show so thank you fox
I love so many aspects of this show. The acting and cast are top notch and the creativity with the story is superb. I just wish it wasn’t quite so dark and graphic. It does push the limit of my comfort levels. Over time I have been finding myself looking forward to watching it for the cast and story, but am now making a special effort to watch it during the day and not night. I don’t want it to be the last thing I see before bed. Some of the effects are gruesome enough that I am starting to… Read more »
Keep going with Gotham I’m all into it with my wife I’m waiting on the third season
the best show on prime time television! it should have a long run since the characters are evolving from such a young age. the writing is brilliant and the acting is heads above other prime time dramas.. best of luck!
Gripping.!
Love this show. It gets better and better.
Best show, great writing, only show I make sure I am home to watch!
What happened to my comment? Okay, Gotham is by far the best show on TV, the characters are all amazing especially Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) and Detective Gordon is Hot. Also, every show is so mesmerizing and I really wish it ran two hours long instead of one hour. I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!
This is without a DOUBT the best show on television! If anyone gets rid of it I will personally “GET THEM”. Everyone is flawless on this show especially penguin (Robin L. Taylor) who really should earn an Emmy for his amazing work on the show. I absolutely LOVE him! All of the villains are “dead on” and BTW Detective Gordon is SO HOT! PLEASE continue this show FOREVER. Thanks!
I thoroughly enjoy Gotham and will remain a viewer as long as it airs. Thank you!
My hubby and I love this show! We have watched it since day 1! It does a good job with the origins of Gotham’s heroes and villains. I hope it gains more viewers so we don’t have to worry about the next seasons renewal fate.
i watched 3 episodes, and i thought it was great, gotham is a good show.!!!
What is better for FOX than two seasons of a flop?
Three seasons!!!
Don’t worry fans, FOX’s management is so intent of self-destruction, Gotham is likely to have six or seven low-rated seasons Flop Girl-style.
Gotham is currently the second highest rated live action show on Fox, after Empire. Hardly a flop.
Gotham has 4 million viewers.
It’s a flop.
A huge one.
The fact FOX keeps making flops doesn’t mean some of its show magically become hits because they’re slightly less low-rated.
Ratings don’t always show a programs quality, look at breaking bad, the first season got low ratings and yet it is now widely acclaimed as one of the best shows ever. So just because it has low ratings in the usa is no sign of failure. For example in Britain it is doing very well in terms of ratings and reviews
if i were you i would check your definition of flop.
if you are too stubborn to do that then i don’t know what to say
Rena Morreti.. you should watch the show before making such an I’ll informed comment. Cheers.
Great news! I was sceptical in the beginning about a Gotham without Batman, but I really like that they’re also doing the origin story along the way. Love the show. Alfred’s the best!
