This year, we don’t have to worry whether the Halt and Catch Fire TV show will be cancelled or renewed for season five. When AMC picked up the fourth season in October of 2016, they announced it would be the final installment. We’re still tracking the ratings though, because they give us a benchmark against which we can compare other AMC TV shows. Will the Halt and Catch Fire ratings increase or decrease in season four? The fourth and final season of this AMC TV series follow the characters as they navigate the early days of the Internet and web browsers. Now, they are contemplating what fate the future holds for them both personally and professionally, even as the cutthroat world of tech further complicates their lives.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

For comparisons: The third season of Halt and Catch Fire averaged a 0.12 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 339,000 total viewers.

I’m sad to see it go. It took me a bit to find the show, but once I did I was hooked. It’s always a shame to me when good shows like this don’t find their audience until it’s too late. It’s well written and with a strong cast of characters, and like “The Newsroom” (another terrific show that was cancelled) I guess just don’t get enough people’s attention.
