The Hap and Leonard TV show on SundanceTV may soon be renewed for a second season. Deadline reports the network is looking for a new showrunner and is close to renewing the series, starring James Purefoy and Michael Kenneth Williams. Reportedly, the second season pickup would be for six episodes, which was the length of the first season.
Deadline says:
The plan is for Season 2 to be based on Landale’s 1994 book Mucho Mojo, the second in the Hap and Leonard series. It revolves around the death of Leonard Pine’s Uncle Chester who happens to live next to a crack house. Under the floorboards of his uncle’s house the two discover the skeleton of an infant wrapped in child pornography. Leonard refuses to believe his uncle could be involved so he enlists the help of Hap to solve the murder and clear his uncle.
A darkly comedic drama, Hap and Leonard is set in the late 1980s in the fictional East Texas town of LaBorde. The dramedy follows two best friends who get in trouble, when their get-rich-quick plan escalates into pandemonium. The Hap and Leonard first season finale, “Eskimos,” aired April 6, 2016.
What do you think? Are you a fan of the Hap and Leonard TV series? Would you watch a second season on SundanceTV?
Love this show !!! Such great acting ….Great chemistry between the “Hap & Leonard ” actors. Please bring season 2 as soon as possible !!!
I really hope they get a chance to continue the series. The second and third books are so much better than the first, when Lansdale was still working out the characters.
For sure.
Great show, my husband and I don’t usually agree on programs. Since I am a huge Lansdale fan, I sort of insisted he watch…and he loved it.
First series was excellent and true to the original stories. Bring on a second series please.
Bring Hap an Leonard back, great story and characters.
Count me in first season was great ,second season should be just as good.
The show was awesome. Watched it multiple times. The actors were spot on. Can’t wait for Mucho Mojo! Bring on more Hap and Leonard.
I loved the series and think that James Purefoy and Michael Kenneth Williams were absolutely fantastic as the leads. I definitely want a second season!
Boardertown is a disappointment.
I love Hap & Leonard, The Detour, Trailer Park Boys and Sunny in Philadelphia. These are the best shows on TV, along with Full Frontal. And Bob’s Burgers. I miss Arrested Development.
Please give us more. I loved all the Hap and Lenard books. I also listened to them on tape. The series did an excellent job doing justice to the books. Thank you to James p and Kenneth, awesome portrail of these characters.
more please
thank goodness. Three of us started watching it on separate nights and all of us had to binge watch the lot in one go. A real undiscovered gem that barely gets a mention.
