Last week, we reported that NBC has effectively cancelled Heroes Reborn after only one season. The series’ creator Tim Kring recently discussed the future of the Heroes franchise in an interview with TVInsider.
The final episode of Heroes Reborn airs tonight on NBC.
In a statement to TVInsider, Kring said the cancellation is not a setback. He said the series’ reboot was always planned as a limited run, and he still has plans to explore the Heroes mythology in the future:
I know word has been circulating that Heroes Reborn has been ‘canceled.’ But I want to assure you that tonight’s finale is exactly the ending we’ve had planned from the very beginning. I’ve also stated that if there was going to be more story, it would not be part of Heroes Reborn, but rather some future volume with a brand new story.”
Kring added that tonight’s finale “clearly leaves the door open for us to tell more stories within the Heroes saga.” He concluded by saying “there is more to come.”
NBC chairman Bob Greenblatt echoed similar optimism, stating “the door remains open for future installments of this beloved series from creator/executive producer Tim Kring.”
What do you think? Have you been watching Heroes Reborn? Would you be interested in more Heroes series?
My son & I love watching recordings or On Demand shows of Heroes on a Friday night or Satuday. It’s such an awesome series. We’d hate if there would really be no more. Keep up your good work Tim Kring!
can’t we have a heroes feature film?! come on tim kring, make it happen!!
Please add on another season. We started watching the original heroes just recently and are hooked.
