It’s just human nature that we’re happy to report the Humans TV show has been renewed for a third season on AMC and UK Channel 4. Season two just concluded last week on AMC, with a cliffhanger no less, so cancellation would have been inhumane.
A sci-fi drama airing on the AMC cable channel in the US, Humans stars Gemma Chan, Emily Berrington, Colin Morgan, Ivanno Jeremiah, Katherine Parkinson, Tom Goodman-Hill, Lucy Carless, Theo Stevenson, Pixie Davies, Carrie-Anne Moss, Marshall Allman, Neil Maskell, Ruth Bradley, Will Tudor, Sonya Cassidy, Sam Palladio, Bella Dayne, and Letitia Wright. The series takes place in a parallel present, where the latest must-have gadget for any home is a Synthetic. But what happens when these Synths are given the right to consciousness and their own free will?
Humans: A Look at the Ratings
The second season of Humans averaged a 0.14 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 462,000 viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 65% in the demo and down by 61% in viewership, so the renewal comes as a bit of a surprise. The show must perform much better in UK, to have nabbed a renewal. AMC, CHANNEL 4 AND KUDOS RENEW “HUMANS” FOR THIRD SEASON
CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED SERIES TO RETURN IN 2018
“AMC’s AI series continues to expand and redefine the genre in dramatically creative and human ways” (The Hollywood Reporter)

What do you think? Have you been watching the Humans TV series? Did you expect it to be cancelled or renewed for season three? Tell us.
I absolutely love Humans and can’t wait for its return this year. I do believe viewership dropped so dramatically in Season Two because they took two years to bring it. Loyalists, like myself, waited and will rejoice this spring one again! Huzzah!
OMG I REALLY got into the “Humans” show. I’m SO disappointed to hear season 2 did so poorly but I REALLY think the poor ratings have to do with the fact that so much time passes between seasons. It’s VERY difficult to WANT to see a show when so much TIME has passed that you can’t even remember the plot of the show or how the characters were related to each other or the dynamics between them. This was ABSOLUTELY my FAVORITE show (even over TWD!) but I’m tired of waiting for it to air again and I can’t even… Read more »
I’m in New York and I love this show! Season 2 was way too short for me but let’s hurry up on 3! Keep it going!
I am super happy that Humans will be back for a third season! Anxious to know what comes of the conscious synths… can’t believe I must wait til 2018 but it’ll make the year go by in a flash!
Found the dvd at HMV (now closed) watch first Season Loved it. Attempted to get Season 2 at Best Buy not available until Oct ? 2017. Love BBC amazing. Looking forward to Season 3. Wish they would put out the DVD’s, while showing it on Cable. Rather buy DVD no commercials and would not have known about series if it where not for HMV. Only place in Nova Scotia is Best Buy and Walmart if you do not have cable.

Season one got better as it went along until it finally hooked me. The trailer was not good for season 2 but wow, this season! My DVR did not record the finale for some reason and just finished watching them on Last chance on demand (due to delete tonight). I am so glad that I did not miss it! This season has been epic but I do hope that Mia gets back to her old self and can learn to love and trust humans again. We also need Leo back, maybe that doctor can save him. I loved Laura’s speech… Read more »
Which doctor?? Which speech to Hester? The one where she quoted Gandhi? Or the one where she said that the very-notion that Synths are “humans” gets substantiated by some psychological-disorder Hester would be diagnosed with had she been recognised as a ‘HS.S‘? Or something else?
Can’s talk anymore. Didn’t wanted to indulge in “off-topic” discussions but since you said it, just wanted a clarification. That’s why no word about my disagreement, to avoid escalating this into a dispute.
One last question: Are you a “fan[atic]” [of this series]?.
I almost missed Season 2 because I have the series scheduled to record new shows only and none of the new episodes are recognized as such by my DirecTV DVR. An error by the network? Fortunately I caught a clue elsewhere that it was airing and was able to binge the series on demand. Very interested to see what season 3 brings.
Don’t trust DirectTV with season 3…it is due to air in 2018 but a date has not been set yet. Just keep looking on AMC’s website!!
Comcast did the same thing, only recorded half the episodes. By the time I realize there was a problem they now want me to buy it!
I am happy this show has been renewed. I have been watching from the beginning and enjoy the mystery and drama. The cast is a good one to look forward to seeing again. Good job AMC!
I am so excited! I don’t understand why more people aren’t watching this series. Thank you for renewing
Maybe because: A) They’re either too-much mesmerised by cable/network shows that they don’t subscribe to premium-cable. B) If they do, they need “fan-service” elements for which HBO®’s ‘GoT’ has become an epitome. The “fan-service” is indeed blissful when it doesn’t come with “politically-correct preaches” by avoiding to portray aftermaths/ramifications of such acts/steps* as explicitly as those very [“fan-service”] elements. C) *Contrary to what’s just aforementioned yet based on the same principal, the most rational-dislike might be the case that the show revolved ‘[too] much’ around Hawkins’ family-drama, yet no resolution of their issues even until Finale. The one which did… Read more »
so glad it’s renewed!! this is a great shiw!! I don’t understand why more people aren’t watching! they’re really missing out!!
Truly amazing. A show with a 0.14 ratings after a 0.39 the year before gets renewed. If not for The Walking Dead and Into The Badlands, I would really go off on AMC for this. It is still an embarrassment. If Into The Badlands ever sinks to a 0.14 overall rating one season, I will be expecting a renewal.
How many companies co-produce ‘Into The Badlands’? What’s the episode-count per series (read season)?
Now, if you really are a rational-person rather a “fan[atic]”, just do the math.
I guess Into The Badlands will be on for years to come. I can’t imagine it ever doing a 0.14 like this did. Amazing that Humans was renewed with those numbers.
Please talk with full-sense!
Great news, amazing series.
I’m glad it’s not cancelled. I hate it when it happens.
Awesome news. I love this show. I just wish that the season was a bit longer.
