What’s This TV Show About?
Streaming on the Amazon Prime Video paid subscription platform, I Love Dick stars Kevin Bacon, Kathryn Hahn, Griffin Dunne, Roberta Colindrez, India Menuez, and Lily Mojekwu. A TV show adaptation of the Chris Kraus novel, I Love Dick centers on NYC Indie filmmaker Chris (Hahn). After her film is pulled from the Venice International Film Festival, she ends up in artsy Marfa, Texas, where her husband Sylvère (Dunne), a writer, is spending a year in residency at the Institute, run by acclaimed artist Dick Jarrett (Bacon). Meeting Dick upends their marriage and lives.

Telly’s Take
The I Love Dick TV show is based on a novel, so it seems like the closed-ended story should only last one season. Still, if it’s a hit, Amazon may well be willing to pony up money for another installment. Witness 13 Reasons Why, which Netflix renewed for a second season, in early May. Unless Amazon decides to release streaming “ratings” it is always difficult to gauge the success of streaming TV shows, like I Love Dick. Still, I keep abreast of all TV series cancellation and renewal news (and am always up for a little Tex-Mex), so subscribe for free updates on whether I Love Dick will be cancelled or renewed for season two.

I’m addicted to this show. Gotta have at least one more season.
I never lusted over Kevin Bacon before, but now I need me some. Please, one more season. I can’t bear for Chris to go unfucked by Dick, but fucked over by her period.
I love I Love Dick. But I don’t think a second season makes sense. The story has been completed and the show is at a good ending point. To make another season the writers would have to invent a reason for Chris to stay in Marfa, and I can’t imagine a reason why she would do that.

Loved Jill Soloways I Love Dick. Want to see more of those dysfunctional writers working out their lives in artful Marfa!! Will they go to Prada? Will they get lost in the desert? Will their creativity get dried out in the desert sun?? Tell us more!!! Will they switch genders? . . . So much comes out of that Soloway mind, I can’t wait to see more! Will the Transparents meet the Dicks? Show us more!!! Love it. Can’t wait for season 2.
