You can’t have too many tattoos it seems. Today, Spike announced that its popular tattoo artist reality competition series Ink Master will return for an eighth season.

Created in 2012, the show pits tattoo artists against each other in a series of creative challenges that are judged by Dave Navarro, Miami-based tattoo artist Chris Nuñez, and Texas-based tattoo artist Oliver Peck. The winner earns a $100,000 prize.

Over the past three years, the reality show has done considerably well in ratings, with its latest season scoring no. 1 among other cable shows in its timeslot. Its sixth season just finished, and the seventh will begin in 2016.

Ink Master delivered yet again a compelling and entertaining season packed with incredible artistic expression and creativity mixed in with big drama. The record ratings are a testament to our partners at Original Media and our phenomenal hosting/judging trio of Dave Navarro, Oliver Peck, and Chris Nunez. We are thrilled to this great team back for Season 8.”
