This culinary-based sitcom debuted on FOX on September 19, 2005 and is based on Anthony Bourday’s bestselling book, Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly.
Jack Bourdain (Bradley Cooper) is a chef that totaled his promising career with excesses of drugs, alcohol, and the wrong choices in women. He’s at the bottom of the heap, unable to even land a job as a fry cook, when he’s given a second chance. This opportunity comes in the form of a job offer to head the kitchen of Nolita, an upscale restaurant in New York owned by Pino (Frank Langella).
The catch is that Jack only has forty-eight hours to fully staff the kitchen and get it running. In a desperate effort, he gathers some misfits from his past. Mimi (Bonnie Somerville) is the owner’s daughter and hopes that Jack will fail, causing the restaurant to land in her hands. Ultimately, Jack makes a success of it and ends up running the restaurant with Mimi. Other castmembers include Owain Yeoman, Nicholas Brendon, John Francis Daley, Jamie King, Sam Pancake, and John Cho.
Because FOX cancelled Kitchen Confidential after just four episodes, most viewers never got the chance to see the series finale, until now. In the 13th and final episode, Nolita is up for the prestigious EPICURE award. Becky Sharp (Erinn Hayes) comes back into Jacks life and he discovers that her restaurant is also in the running. Take a look.
