TVGuide is reporting that NBC has unceremoniously cancelled Las Vegas after five seasons on the air.
Las Vegas debuted on September 22, 2003 and was touted as actor James Caan’s first series regular role on television. The Academy Award-nominated actor was cast as the Montecito casino’s Head of Security, ‘Big Ed’ Deline. Others in the cast have included Nikki Cox, Josh Duhamel, James Lesure, Vanessa Marcil, Molly Sims, and Marsha Thomason.
Caan left the series last year to return to his movie career and Cox was cut from the show in a cost-cutting move. Caan was replaced by Tom Selleck and it was hoped that the addition of the veteran TV actor would help revitalize the series. It didn’t and, coupled with the series’ move to Friday nights, the ratings dropped significantly.
Last year, Las Vegas was one of the earliest NBC shows to get a renewal notice. What a difference a year can make.
NBC has opted not to renew Las Vegas for season six. Unlike Friday Night Lights, Vegas apparently doesn’t warrant shopping to other possible outlets and fans of the series are left with a cliffhanger. The last two episodes aired last Friday and was first in the ratings for both hours, Unbeknownst to viewers at the time, it was likely the last time we’ll see the staff of the Montecito. Stay tuned!
What the hell!!! Someone should sue NBC over false advertisement, leaving us hanging with a to be continued…. then nothing. I can think of other NBC showes that should have been cancelled before Las Vegas. NBC really screwed the pooch this time. Thanks for NOTHING!!!!! Never watching NBC again.
please do at least 1 more season!! give us some closer! its messed up lettin it end the way u did!!!
I am so disapointed. I’ve been watching las vegas on TNT and really loved it and now i find out that NBC cancelled the show and didnt even give us a finale! Are they crazy? Why would they leave us hanging like that? I think they should bring it back they would sertently get the ratings and it would make so many loyal viewers very happy. Come on NBC do the right thing.
I have been a long viewer of this show, ive practically seen every episode of it. This show however deserved to be cancelled. When James Caan left the show and they cut out other key charachters but more especially Mr. Caan, the show went down hill with Tom “Mr. Baseball” Seleck. Not because it was Tom’s fault, the plots and story lines were terrible and it was just no good. Las Vegas had a good run, but any show when you take out the key person will never survive. Maybe if they didnt have Danny knocking Delinda up….he and Mike… Read more »
Im in Hampstead, NC and I see the show for two hours mon-fri. It really was a good show. I think the least they could do is do a two hour movie that would end the show the way it deserves. For that show bring back Ed, Nessa, Mary, and the whole crew, including Casey. I guarentee the rating will go through the roof that night. Danny and Mike come back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If NBC won’t at least give us a season finale or series finale episode, well then I suggest that the creator of the show get people to produce a two hour series finale and make it available on DVD. Ta da. Problem solved. I understand that season five has already come out on DVD, but with this two hour series finale, they could wrap up the loose ends, get an appearance from James Caan, and with that finale on DVD, they could do a WHOLE behind the scenes thing, commentary, interviews with the cast, so on and so forth.
Omg! I need this show to at least hav one more episode.. I need my fix of Danny and mike.. And Sam!! Please NBC I beg you
COME ON!!! Don’t just leave us hanging like that!! Just a movie to end it for us. Let us see a happy ending for all the cast, or an unhappy ending. Either way just give us an ending!!!! This is crap!!!
look i watch this show and i have no idea why you would cancell it. when i watch this show i want to live the life of danny mccoy hes got everything he has the girl who care’s about him, a great job, and a awesome best friend who will al ways be there for him so please for the love of god bring this show back
Been watching on TNT…maybe TNT could restart the show up again. Seem like the can do it.
That’s crap! I’ve just recently been getting into Las Vegas and absoulutely loooooove this show. I’ve watched all the re-runs on TNT and was waiting for the next episode, only to find out that it started replaying all the old ones. How disappointing! I vote that NBC rethink their decision on season 6. BOOOO NBC!
i am from greece!!! and i watched this show and i loved it!!!! must come back… this is not end!!!
I want a real final episode!! No i demand a final episode! We the viewers pay the bills at your networks tuning in and watching commercials for your advertisers putting in hours of our lives following these shows. If you are going to cancel a show do it the right way give it an ending. You wouldn’t read a book if the last chapter was ripped out so why would you end on a possible miscarriage. I mean come on we deserve better from your network! Please give us a series finale the ratings will be there i assure you… Read more »
I hope that NBC will please give us closure to at least the last episode, leaving us hanging with Delinda in trouble is just not right. Even on Friday nights I would record the show and watch at a different time. Just bring back the show with original actors and the PEOPLE of the world will be happy!!!!!!! Thank you in advance!
I have been wondering when the show would be back on as well, I am very saddened to learn it won’t be back on!! I really liked it this just sucks!!
