Tim Allen’s second long-running ABC sitcom has come to a close. His Last Man Standing TV show has been cancelled so there won’t be a seventh season on ABC. The ABC family sitcom follows straight-talker Mike Baxter (Tim Allen), a man surrounded by women.
Last Man Standing also stars Nancy Travis, Molly Ephraim, Kaitlyn Dever, Amanda Fuller, Jordan Masterson, Flynn Morrison, Jonathan Adams, Christoph Sanders, and Hector Elizondo.
Last Man Standing: A Look at the Ratings
The sixth season of Last Man Standing averaged a 1.15 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.41 million viewers. Compared to the fifth season, that’s down by 5% in both measures.
Although when sorted by ratings demo numbers Last Man Standing ranks 12th among the 25 scripted ABC TV shows we’re tracking, in terms of average total audience size it’s a top three show. That’s pretty good for Friday nights, when the audience is smaller.
In addition to performing solidly for ABC, Last Man Standing does well in syndication.
Unfortunately, ABC does not share in those syndication profits since the series is produced by 20th Century Fox Television. In the past, the network had negotiated with the studio to secure lower licensing fees. This time around, there was no last-minute bargaining.
There’s been no news of trying to shop the series elsewhere but, if the studio and creatives are willing to make the jump, Last Man Standing seems like a natural candidate to move to a streaming or cable outlet.

Definitely upsets my whole family. One of the only decent shows on tv. Makes me wonder if abc is caving to political correctness. And also not a huge surprise though. Look at what the Disney Corp has been doing to all their shows- cheaping out on all their programs. Just look at the recent animation on the Disney channel
Totally disappointed in ABC. This is the only program we watched on their network. We loved Tim Allen’s humor, so what if it is conservative . So, much for free speech. I guess we will be doing more productive things than watch “stupid TV”.
I hate reality shows and yet all the networks keep jamming them down our throats. Just a bunch of spoiled rich people who could not function in the every day world with the rest of us. So we will lose a good down to earth show like Tim Allen’s, Last Man Standing. What is wrong with people now days that they would rather watch rich a**ho**s boo-hoo around and expect us to be entertained. I would so much rather watch something truly entertaining and truthful.
What happened to giving the viewers closure??? OMG you just up and cancel it??
Hopefully some one else will pick it up. Once again a good show bites the dust because supposedly for low ratings If you would count people over 49 you would get the real ratings of the show I’m going non 65 and I like the show why do you only count from 18-49?
I think it’s terrible, I love the show.
One of our favorite shows on TV for years. Looking at the other shows ABC offers – they’re letting one of their best go and that’s an absolute shame! The reason this show is so popular in syndication is because it’s GOOD! Bad decision ABC …. ship of fools!
Extremely disappointed that “Last Man Standing” has been cancelled! It is one of the very few great comedy shows on television.
One of the best family shows on TV and tells it like it is, sad to see it get pulled, this show must be too “normal” for the times?? Only the lib-tard shows stay on.

Serious!? This is our favorite show! If it’s gonna end im done watching tv! We have been trying to find a good show like this forever to watch and now that its over theres nothing good to watch anymore, everything else is boring…
Yes….I love this show….I wonder why they’re REALLY cancelling this show…and keeping the trashy shows…doesn’t make sense…..
