Tim Allen’s second long-running ABC sitcom has come to a close. His Last Man Standing TV show has been cancelled so there won’t be a seventh season on ABC. The ABC family sitcom follows straight-talker Mike Baxter (Tim Allen), a man surrounded by women.
Last Man Standing also stars Nancy Travis, Molly Ephraim, Kaitlyn Dever, Amanda Fuller, Jordan Masterson, Flynn Morrison, Jonathan Adams, Christoph Sanders, and Hector Elizondo.
Last Man Standing: A Look at the Ratings
The sixth season of Last Man Standing averaged a 1.15 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.41 million viewers. Compared to the fifth season, that’s down by 5% in both measures.
Although when sorted by ratings demo numbers Last Man Standing ranks 12th among the 25 scripted ABC TV shows we’re tracking, in terms of average total audience size it’s a top three show. That’s pretty good for Friday nights, when the audience is smaller.
In addition to performing solidly for ABC, Last Man Standing does well in syndication.
Unfortunately, ABC does not share in those syndication profits since the series is produced by 20th Century Fox Television. In the past, the network had negotiated with the studio to secure lower licensing fees. This time around, there was no last-minute bargaining.
There’s been no news of trying to shop the series elsewhere but, if the studio and creatives are willing to make the jump, Last Man Standing seems like a natural candidate to move to a streaming or cable outlet.

One of the BEST sitcoms on TV and you cancel, such ignorance….Tim Allen is so great, along with the complete cast…I’m gonna miss “What’s Happening”….. I, too, hope another network picks it up like Supergirl was…..such a shame that one of the better comedies gets cancelled and others, that ARE NOT GOOD (nor funny) gets renewed….I’m SAD!!!

I’m heart broken. I hope fox will do the right thing and find another venue. everyone I know is a fan. I love the repeats but looked forward to Friday nights.
Of course you’d cancel a show with a Republican celebrity. This show represents the real America and no matter what excuse you come up with for cancelling it, we all know the reason. I am sick of Hollywood and the media, you have NO idea how real people live or think. ABC caved to the liberal’s pressure. They are so messed up. The one good show! I am so so sad. We LOVED the show. Watch all the reruns too. It’s a sad, sad day.
Too bad they are cancelling a great show with a lot of hilarious truth but they leave the immoral obnoxious talk shows full of ignorant people who think anyone cares what they think on the air
This is a completely political sham. The best show on this worthless network and they cancelled it. I hope someone else picks it up. It deserves to remain on air.

Well that was the only show on ABC that I watched and now will not watch any of their other crap. Sad I love this show
I am very disappointed that ABC has caved and canceled Last Man Standing. Obviously it wasn’t about the ratings. Much more likely it “offended” someone that has enough pull with the network. When will enough be enough for the politically correct left? I for one will willfully avoid watching their other offerings.
You would rather have the View with their idiotic and bias remarks than Last Man Standing who can joke about politics. When you look at what you are offered on TV now, reality or liberal, it’s amazing anyone still watches. I for one am quitting the insanity my monthly cable payment can be used for better things than listening to so called stars and networks who think they know what’s right. Guess what ABC try as you might to change things our President is Donald Trump GET OVER IT!!!!!!!

I love last man standing. The only Friday night show I watch.
Pretty soon I will only be watching HGTV.
