While the second season of Legend of the Seeker is still airing, a significant decision has already been made about the possibility of season three.
Legend of the Seeker is a fantasy series about a young woodsman (Craig Horner) who discovers he is actually destined to be a heroic Seeker. The series also stars Bridget Regan, Bruce Spence, Craig Parker, and Kevin J. Wilson.
The show is produced by ABC Studios and airs in syndication, primarily running on stations owned by the Tribune Company. The show debuted on November 1, 2008 and was renewed for second season after just 10 episodes had aired.
Season two kicked off on November 7, 2009 and now, after 13 episodes have aired, Tribune has decided they’ve had enough. According to KsiteTV and a representative of Tribune, the show’s ratings haven’t been good enough for them to renew Legend of the Seeker for season three.

While ABC has not made an announcement that the show has been cancelled, the Tribune Company represents a large percentage of stations that carry the series. ABC will have to do a lot of legwork to get it picked up by enough other stations.
The big questions are if the ratings are good enough for other stations to want to pick up the show and if the revenue will warrant ABC keeping the show going.
Co-Executive Producer Mike Sussman isn’t ready to give up just yet. Yesterday, he twittered a photo his show’s hero with his favorite Mark Twain quote, “The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.”
The remaining episodes of season two kick off on March 20th.
What do you think? Should Legend of the Seeker survive to see a third season?

dont cancel legend of the seeker. it is the best show on tv
I have recently started watching the show, and I really enjoy it. It would be really sad to not renew it for another season, the casting is great, and story lines have been good and keep me wanting to watch more.
I love it and will be really unhappy if it ends. Acting is great and the story holds my interest. Most of the shows on tv today are not worth the 30-60 minutes they air for. Hope ABC can keep it going. PS good luck ABC with cablevision–hope they see the light.
This show has to continue simply because it is amazing. The storyline is great, characters are awesome, and the setting is out-of-this-world. I just bought the complete first season box set and I’ve seen every episode on TV even the re-runs. This is possibily my #1 favorite show. The show has to go on!!!
This is one of the best shows around. Please don’t cancel it with the up coming movies of the fantasy genre this will pick up. I’m from the UK and we love the show!!!!
This is my favorite show! I really look forward to Saturday to see the next episode in the series. My family bought me the first season DVD for Christmas. I agree with the previous post. It seems like every series that is different and exciting gets cancelled. Please keep this series going. I loved the books, and I love the series. It’s like the continuing adventures of Richard and Kahlan.
I have fallen in love with this show. The characters are wonderful. It’s especially nice to see as many (if not perhaps more) strong, interesting women characters as men – not just 1 or 2 supporting characters who run 3 steps behind the men. I discovered the show only recently so I still need to see most of Season 1. I have just started reading “Wizard’s First Rule” and am enjoying that as well. Perhaps part of the problem in getting viewers is – at least where I live – it never seems to be on at the same time,… Read more »
I really love this show! I have learn so many lesson for it. Im always looking forward to watch especially how the cast and crew enjoyed it. Please save the Seeker.
Please do not cancel the show. This is my favorite TV show and I love the cast and the story. It’s only aired one season in my country, but it’s one of the best show. hope they will continue the show.
Not one I can say I’ll miss greatly but I will say this – it was far more engaging than the books (I’m sure some will consider that blasphemous).
A lot of the subject matter is cut and re-molded to better suit the show and honestly, after having seen it beyond reading the series, I’d found myself wishing the books had been more like it.
Legend of the Seeker is one of the ONLY TV shows I watch anymore. Why is it always the best shows (best over all quality, best scripts, best actors, best musical scores….etc) that get the AX? I hope someone comes to their senses and saves this show. I loved first season, but the second season has been even better, if that’s at all possible.
Please renew ‘Legend of the Seeker’!!
Every person that I’ve introduced to the series becomes hooked! (Imagine what proper promotion of the Show could do?? 😉 )
‘Legend of the Seeker’ is Loved Worldwide as well 🙂

I love this show! It is one of only four I must watch each week. I love the acting and this season the story is even better than season one. I have gotten so many people as addicted to this show as I am. I have yet to find someone who was willing to give it a shot and was disappointed. Most have gone out and also bought season one on DVD. It’s great for all ages. My three year old cousin, my grandmother, my aunt and uncle and my mom all watch this. As do many of my coworkers… Read more »
This show is a welcome relief from all of the other network shows that either are depressing in nature or just showcasing people trying to backstab their fellow cast members. The cast of LotS in my opinion could have not been chosen any better. The love story being depicted between the two main characters is pure bliss. It leaves much to one’s imagination and fantasy. A welcome relief for me anyway. I wish the studios and the networks would promote this show for normal primetime viewing. The show has all the right cast, writers, support staff and loyal fans worldwide… Read more »
I recently found The Legend of the Seeker, and love it! I’ve even begun reading the books on which it is based. My entire family loves this series and to have it canceled would severely diminish programming available to watch. To anyone who likes this series, i recommend the books, they are not light reading, and have significant differences from the show, but in their own right, both are awesome.
