TV show description:
Set in Big Sky country, this thriller TV show is based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson.
Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) is the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming. Recently widowed, Longmire is a man who buries his pain behind a brave face and dry wit. He’s known for his manners, strength, and old-fashioned approach. His dedication to the law and his passion for the great West make him a desirable lawman.
Victoria ‘Vic’ Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) is the newest addition to the sheriff’s office. Leaving the homicide division in Philadelphia after five years, Vic is still adjusting to dealing with the locals in her new town. Her playful relationship with Longmire holds a deeper connection that allows her to be his most trusted deputy. Vic is out to prove she isn’t a rookie and to show she is capable and loyal.
Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) is Walt’s lifelong best friend and a local bar owner. Henry is a handsome and charming Cheyenne who is fiercely protective of his tribe and serves as Walt’s go-between with the reservation. Being a business owner, he is comfortable with progress and modernity while maintaining a connection with his past, unlike his close friend.
Deputy Branch Connally (Bailey Chase) is a go-getter with blind confidence. He has political aspirations that often motivate him more than solving cases. His resentment toward Walt’s outdated approach further inspire him to run for sheriff, especially after feeling that he is picking up his boss’s slack. He wants to bring Absaroka County into the 21st century, and he longs to update the sheriff’s station with the technology that other law enforcement agencies use.
Another deputy, The Ferg (Adam Bartley), is a big guy with the heart of a puppy dog. He is loyal, sweet, well-meaning and eager to please. A gifted fly-fisherman who knows how to hunt and fix things, The Ferg has a long way to go as an investigator. Even though he may not be a perfect fit for the job, he is no coward.
Cady Longmire (Cassidy Freeman) is Walt’s only child and an attorney with dreams of the big city. After the death of her mother, Cady has taken it upon herself to help her father get his life back together. She is keenly aware of his imperfections and is the only one not afraid to point them out. Her straight talk and sense of humor connect this father-daughter duo even though they both tend to drive the other crazy.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the Longmire TV series? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
The show is exceptional! Clean, honest, brazen in its simplicity. Acting is raw and done very well. It would be a shame that we loose good acting, good story and great background.
It is a shame that A&E is caught up in the rating game, rather than ensuring that good
programs like Longmire stays.
It is apparent that viewers like myself are in the minority in the eyes of the network.

Longmire is a great show. One that grabs your attention and makes you want to see the next.
Who are these people who consistently cancel good shows?
They need to be replaced!
I agree with Melodie cancel more of these mind numbing reality shows and keep the shows with substance.
Longmire is the only show we watch on A & E, so they have lost a family of viewers.
I used to love watching the A&E Network. Why? Longmire was on it and I had a reason to look forward to Monday nights so I could watch the BEST show that has EVER existed. Now, I’ve been a HUGE fan of Lou Diamond Phillips ever since the Young Guns movies and yes, he’s the reason I started watching the show to begin with, but as I got more into the show, I fell in love with all of the amazing characters. Great characters, phenomenal storylines, even more phenomenal actors portraying those characters. Ever since A&E cancelled Longmire, I’ve hated… Read more »
Big Sky country is Montana. Wyoming, where the series is set, is the Equality State.
Great show. Glad it’s coming back.
Love show. Bring it back
Netflix has confirmed that Longmire will return. Yea.
This was an awesome show!!!!!! BRING LONGMIRE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love this show, and I all most cried when I saw it was being cancelled!! How could you A&E ????? With all the “reality” crap on tv, we get a GREAT show and it’s cancelled?? Please, rethink this unwise decision. I speak not only for myself, but my entire family and several friends!!
This was a great show, it definitely should have been renewed.
Disappointed that the show was canceled
Excellent acting
Excellent writing
Excellent stories
It’s ashamed that such a great show like this will not be back
Well as I posted earlier I sent an email to A&E and as expected there was no response so I just sent in another one asking if anyone is paying attention to what the viewers want to watch . I mentioned that there were already 1,686 comments made about Longmire being cancelled on one site alone and asked them if they would like the name of that site . I do not expect to hear back from them as they apparently don’t give a *&^% !
So much trash on tv and you decide to cancel a show that is exceptional, acting, writing, and production. The execs keep pandering reality garbage and then wonder why our culture is rotting. So pathetic.
What? I am so disappointed in A&E for canceling Longmire. It was one of the better shows on television. We still have to put up with all these stupid reality shows! Who cares what the Real Housewives do? Bring back some real entertainment A&E!!
So upset to hear my favorite show was cancelled!! What a great season finale and now we will never know what happened! I watch very little tv and this was one show that we always made a point to watch. So disappointed.
Say it isn’t so! I was totally disappointed to hear that A&E was canceling this outstanding crime drama. I learned about the series not quite a month ago and went to Netflix’s to start the first season. I was immediately intrigued and hooked after the first episode. What a refreshing program with superb acting and exciting story-lines. It didn’t take long to get caught up to Season 3 which I found was not available on Netflix. I went searching for it and found out that A&E was canceling the show altogether! I hope they will reconsider or another network can… Read more »
Dear A&E, I hope when you get older that your opinions and views get cancelled too. Most of what you offer is not any good, but the few that you do have are being cancelled. Hopefully they will get to another station and we can all just go there. Leave A&E to flounder in the mindless muck and mire of the demographics they so desire.
