TV show description:
Set in Big Sky country, this thriller TV show is based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson.
Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) is the charismatic, dedicated and unflappable sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming. Recently widowed, Longmire is a man who buries his pain behind a brave face and dry wit. He’s known for his manners, strength, and old-fashioned approach. His dedication to the law and his passion for the great West make him a desirable lawman.
Victoria ‘Vic’ Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) is the newest addition to the sheriff’s office. Leaving the homicide division in Philadelphia after five years, Vic is still adjusting to dealing with the locals in her new town. Her playful relationship with Longmire holds a deeper connection that allows her to be his most trusted deputy. Vic is out to prove she isn’t a rookie and to show she is capable and loyal.
Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) is Walt’s lifelong best friend and a local bar owner. Henry is a handsome and charming Cheyenne who is fiercely protective of his tribe and serves as Walt’s go-between with the reservation. Being a business owner, he is comfortable with progress and modernity while maintaining a connection with his past, unlike his close friend.
Deputy Branch Connally (Bailey Chase) is a go-getter with blind confidence. He has political aspirations that often motivate him more than solving cases. His resentment toward Walt’s outdated approach further inspire him to run for sheriff, especially after feeling that he is picking up his boss’s slack. He wants to bring Absaroka County into the 21st century, and he longs to update the sheriff’s station with the technology that other law enforcement agencies use.
Another deputy, The Ferg (Adam Bartley), is a big guy with the heart of a puppy dog. He is loyal, sweet, well-meaning and eager to please. A gifted fly-fisherman who knows how to hunt and fix things, The Ferg has a long way to go as an investigator. Even though he may not be a perfect fit for the job, he is no coward.
Cady Longmire (Cassidy Freeman) is Walt’s only child and an attorney with dreams of the big city. After the death of her mother, Cady has taken it upon herself to help her father get his life back together. She is keenly aware of his imperfections and is the only one not afraid to point them out. Her straight talk and sense of humor connect this father-daughter duo even though they both tend to drive the other crazy.

What do you think? Are you a fan of the Longmire TV series? Do you think it should have ended or been renewed for a seventh season on Netflix?
Longmire needs to be renewed. I enjoy seeing Wyoming issues brought out. The west still lives on
I loved this show. Very well written and always kept you guessing as to who did it. Bring it back.
I cant believe another good show got cancelled
Definitely would have liked to see the show return. I really enjoyed the stories and the setting and would have really liked to know what happened at the end of last season.
Could not wait for new season to start now I will never know who got shot at end of last season. I loved the show very much hope some other channel picks it up
I don’t watch as many new shows as I used to. I am so tired of getting really interested in a good program just to see it cancelled quickly without being given a chance to succeed. This happens more and more often. I think I will just wait until a program goes off the air and if it lasted for several years then I will go back and catch up. Longmire and Killer Women were two of the best programs on the air and now they are gone. The reality programs have saturated the networks and we only need a… Read more »
It’s a darn shame they decided to cancel Longmire. What a perfect show for people of all ages, My 21 year old granddaughter loves the show as much as I do! We can only pray that they change their minds or sell the series to another channel
I was one of the first two comments on here and I am so shocked how many others felt the same as I did about Longmire being canceld A & E really screwed up on this one. I pray the show gets picked up by another network I am through with A& E for good.
I agree. Many of us, regardless of age, enjoy great character driven programming. We have our fill of “reality ” shows.
Please, will another network, with more intelligent direction than A&E…pick up Longmire…and get a large audience by doing so…a great share of those watching TV at that time?
I cannot believe A & E cancelled Longmire and left the cliff hanger hanging!!! The only 2 shows you have that anybody (any age) watches is Longmire and Duck Dynasty!!! Remember what happened when you tried to cancel that one?!?!?!?!?!? Obviously you don’t!!!
Longmire is an excellent show. So 50+ age people favor it. We got more money to buy stuff than the 30’s, that are watching “reality”, which is not reality. Longmire is excellent production, excellent direction and excellent action. If A & E cancels, I will cancel A&E from my cable channels. A & E is a perfect example of “Idiocracy”. God help us.
Too sad that Longmire has been cancelled. That was my favorite TV series. I will miss it greatly. How on earth is it that A&E doesn’t care about older viewers. Who do you think pays the bills for the younger viewers?
A&E almost made a big mistake by cancelling Duck Dynasty, don’t make another one!! This is a great series with a cast that fits the characters. Keep this series going!
I don’t understand the stupidity it takes to run a network. The most popular show since the networks inception and they cancel it because they don’t care about older viewers. That is ridiculous. Even my kids agree that it should not be cancelled. They watch this show and talk about it all the time. Do you really not care about your older viewers? If that is the case, I hope all the so called older viewers quit watching your programs and buying from your sponsors. I would think your sponsors would care about that.
Please renew Longmire. The writing is outstanding. The actors chosen for the parts compare favorably to the characters created in the books. Read all the books after seeing the first season. Shop for another network. A&E had a winner and did not know it.
A&E would like for us to be loyal viewers of their network and watch the shows paraded out each year. But when they actually produce a great show like LONGMIRE only to rip it from us we must take a stand and no longer be loyal viewers.
I am so upset that they canceled Longmire. I loved the cast and the location. I am such a big fan. Please do not give up on this show.
