Syfy is still airing the fourth season of Lost Girl but the series has been renewed for a fifth season of 13 episodes in Canada where it’s produced. While the US cable channel hasn’t made an announcement yet, it’s expected that season five will air here in the states as well.
Here’s the press release from Showcase:
Showcase has greenlit a fifth season of its hit Canadian original series, Lost Girl for 13 episodes. The homegrown hit series starring Anna Silk begins production on season five this spring and is set to air Fall 2014.
Since premiering in 2010, Lost Girl has solidified itself as a ratings powerhouse for Showcase. Season four was the #1 ranked program on the channel across multiple key demos and ranked in the Top 20 of all Canadian Specialty Programs for Fall 2013 (A25-54 and W25-54, excluding sports)*. It continues to rank in the Top 20 of all Canadian Specialty Programs (A25-54) in Winter/Spring 2014**.
“Rooted in folklore and mythology, Lost Girl has inspired a passionate and dedicated fan following with its deeply engaging characters, richly imagined universe and boundary-pushing storylines,” said Barbara Williams, Senior Vice President, Content, Shaw Media. “We’re looking forward to season five building on the exciting and fantastical plotlines.”
Lost Girl follows supernatural seductress Bo (Silk), a tough yet loveable Succubus who feeds off sexual energy. Since realizing she is part of the Fae, creatures of legend and folklore who live among humans, Bo has resisted choosing an allegiance to either the Dark or Light Fae clans. Instead, she has forged her own path between the human and Fae worlds, while embarking on a mission to unlock the secrets of her origin.
Throughout the fourth season Bo was plagued by memory loss that left her with more questions than answers, especially upon learning of her inexplicable decision to officially join the Dark Fae. The season’s emotional journey exposed Bo and her friends to new loves, heartbreaking losses and shocking betrayals, all leading to the season finale that saw her battle a darkness within herself.
Also returning to the cast are series stars Kris Holden-Ried (The Tudors, Underworld: Awakening) as Light Fae shape-shifter Dyson, Zoie Palmer (The Guard, Instant Star) as human doctor Lauren, Rick Howland (Billable Hours, Murdoch Mysteries) as Bo’s ancient and secretive grandfather Trick and Rachel Skarsten (The Vow, Flashpoint) as Valkyrie warrior Tamsin. Returning guest stars include Paul Amos (Sex After Kids, Murdoch Mysteries) and Emmanuelle Vaugier (Two and a Half Men, Covert Affairs).
Lost Girl was developed by Prodigy Pictures, in association with Shaw Media and Showcase. Executive Producers are Jay Firestone, Vanessa Piazza and Michael Grassi.
Lost Girl is produced with the participation of the Canadian Media Fund created by the Government of Canada and the Canadian cable industry, and with the assistance of the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit and the Ontario Film and Television Tax Credit Program.

U always give us something good and then take it away!! I’m about to give up on watching Syfy all together!!!!
I love this show!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please there will have to be more… Everyone in this show seems to be close and really acts well with one another. It would be a shame to stop a good thing. You must take a short recess and come up with some more stuff and let the show go on.
Watched lost girl on Netflix addicted to its storyline and Witt good stuff oh Canada. I will miss Kensi. How do I see season five???
I started watching the lost girl on Netflix, and it is awesome. Sad they killed Hale and Kenzi. I was looking to see what time it comes on to my surprise it comes on 4am. How do you expect ratings to go up when you show it so early in the morning. If you showed it at night you might get more ratings. I love the show and want to see what happens to Bo, and if she will be able to bring Kenzi and maybe even Hale back
I love lost girl I am just waiting for them to put it on Netflix I really want them to put it on Netflix like today. When I watched lost girl on Netflix I was like I am starting to love this show then I kept on watching it I thought it was awesome and I loved it a whole lot
I felt in love with the lost girl and all it’s characters, and Bo and the Doctors relationship, will truly miss the show, really wish season five make us all happy,to Anna Silk became a big fan of hers, May you Have success in other shows, will be watching for you.
Love , love Lost Girl. I discovered all 4 seasons on Netflix . Love Bo, Dyson, Trick and of course Kenzie. Nothing against lesbians but I wish they would decrease the love scenes just little bit. Leave something to the imagination and trust me I get Bo is a Succubus (needs the sexual energy). Cannot wait for season 5 to begin.
There’s just as many M/F love scenes as there are F/F love scenes. If there going to decrease the lesbian ones they need to decrease the straight love scenes as well.
If Kenzie is gone then the show will be boring!!! She’s the reason I watch!! She’s crazy and funny!! I hope to see her :'(!
I Love Kenzie and Bo and Lauren and Wolfie and Trick and Hale …snf…
But they made a season 5 I am just waiting for them to put it on Netflix
This series hands down is my all time favorite. I hope and pray for many more seasons to come. Thanks to Netflix I found this show.
I came across lost girl on Netflix and I have now watched all of the seasons and I am sooo addicted to this show. Cant wait for season 5 but im not sure where to watch it, so I might have to wait until it is put onto netflix. But it is an awesome show so keep it up.
I’ve always been a fan of mythological type tv series but lost girl is one of the best lots hope in season five havering Kenzie and Hale brought back somehow.
I love this show! Although I don’t get attached to any thing on Syfy anymore – they make decisions that seem to make little sense and some excellent shows with great actors have been set aside for B grade horror films or wrestling. I can only hope to purchase the 5th season from the Canadian TV if Syfy does something stupid again.
I have been watching Lost Girl since S1 and love it. It’s different, it’s fresh and it’s not reality TV which America have resorted to and I’m sick of. Canadians have a hit on their hands and as an American I’m loving it. Waiting for S5 and more after that.
I love this show and it is one of the best shows I watch. I will really be upset if this one is cancelled, and so will my friends and ffamily who also love this ss
how. Iit rocks for those of you who have not yet seen it, I would make it a point to se it, preferably from the beginning. Check out on demand or online to get eary episodes.
