TV show description:
This dramatic TV series takes place in 1959, shortly after the Cuban Revolution, and is set in Miami Beach.
Isaac “Ike” Evans (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is the majority owner and boss of the Miramar Playa, Miami Beach’s premier resort. It’s a turbulent time in Miami, but it’s THE place to be. The Kennedys, the mob, and the CIA all hold court there.
Ike is the star of his hotel — but everything comes at a price. To finance his dream, he sold his soul to mob boss Ben “The Butcher” Diamond (Danny Huston). Ike’s second wife Vera (Olga Kurylenko), a former showgirl, and his three kids (Steven Strait, Christian Cooke, and Taylor Blackwell) think he’s an honorable man, but he can’t break his pact with the devil. His life is a façade.
In fact, nothing at the Miramar Playa is what it seems. By day, it’s diving clowns and cha-cha lessons. By night, escorts have secret liaisons with husbands in the family cabanas, while Miami’s seedier residents and the law drift together to hear legendary singers, musicians and comics. As his world threatens to implode, Ike fights for his family, and the Miramar Playa, in Magic City.

Ike and Ben’s future hangs on the outcome of the gambling bill. Klein weighs Ike’s offer to get The Butcher. Stevie and Lily face the end. Vera’s heart is broken.

How could you cancel a show with great acting, scenery, keeps you guessing on plot just when you think you know, I just can’t believe it has ended. TV sucks.
Bring back the show or we break the Butcher out of jail and send you to his boat one night…..
Bring back Magic City. It will give me a reason to watch STARS. Don’t know what these execs are thinking.

Starz has lost their mind. This show was fantastic and could have been a long run much followed series. Shame on Starz! Actually considering reducing my package and eliminating Starz!

Loved this show! 2nd great show set in my youth that was cancelled. Can’t figure these executives and their decisions out! Very popular shows, created around popular time period that I thought was well received and they throw them away but give all these other “reality tv” or game show contests the ok! Go figure! I sure hope one of the newer more progressive channels that are popping up all over due to the internet will show some wisdom and pick these great shows up!!
Please continue this show. It was so so so good. How can you just start a series and then drop it without resolve for the watchers. So not right. It was great. Jeffery Dean Morgan, amazing along with rest of actor line up. PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!!!

Magic City was a great show, so well written & we were always looking forward to watching it. Jeffery Dean Morgan was intoxicating. So much junk on TV to cancel this was not one of them very bad decision ! HBO will you pick Magic City up Please!!!
