TV show description:
A period drama, this show is set in 1943 in the secret town of Los Alamos, New Mexico. Hidden away by the federal government, scientists live there with their families while they work to build the world’s first atomic bomb.
Frank Winter (John Benjamin Hickey) is the lead scientist on the Manhattan Project and is brilliant, kinetic, and self-destructive. He’s a man who believes that scientific work is what matters most.
If it weren’t for his wife, botanist Liza Winter (Olivia Williams), he would have become a recluse years ago. Now that military secrecy has severed the lifeline of communication with Liza, Frank is a man who is very much alone.
Cut off from her husband, Liza is snubbed by the housewives (who think of her as a scientist) and shunned by the scientists (who think of her as a wife). Callie (Alexia Fast) is their rebellious teenage daughter who’s become frustrated with small town life.
The newest member of the team is Charlie Isaacs (Ashley Zukerman), a young man who’s know for both his love of numbers and his conscience. He distinguished himself as one of the rarest talents that the physics department at Harvard had ever seen. While in college, he also fell in love and married a Jewish girl named Abby (Rachel Brosnahan). She’s now a housewife and the pair share few interests other than their young son and Abby finds it difficult to fit in with her new community.
Frank Winter’s former mentor is Glen Babbit (Daniel Stern) and it seems like he’s always helped keep Frank out of trouble. It was Babbit who asked Frank to join a secret military project in the New Mexico desert.
Other scientists include Helen Prins (Katja Herbers), Jim Meeks (Christopher Denham), Paul Crosley (Harry Lloyd), Louis “Fritz” Fedowitz (Michael Chernus), and Sid Liao (Eddie Shin).
Episode #23 — Jupiter

What do you think? Do you like the Manhattan TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a third season?
Must be renewed. Excellent characters and compelling story. Plus its history.
renewed
Excellent show! Great historical period piece. One of the best series on TV! Hope it continues
I’m very much looking forward to the final series of Manahatan
It was IMPRESSIVE to say the least.
When is it scheduled?
The courtesy of a reply would be much appreciated.
Thank you
The second season is currently airing on Tuesday nights. It hasn’t been cancelled or renewed for a third season yet.
This is one of the most intelligent, well-acted shows on television, but I can’t really see how they could renew it for a third season. It seemed like it was all that could be done to get it renewed for this season, but apparently it was based on the popularity. I am glad they are finishing the story, but don’t see how they could successfully continue the story beyond this season with the same kind of verve that has gotten it this far.
It is a intellligent and engaging program. Do NOT take it off the air. My husband and I can hardly wait for the next episode every week.
it returns oct 13th
SO WELL DONE! PLEASE GIVE US MORE SEASONS! KEEP THE QUALITY STUFF COMING!
One of the best shows on TV. Great acting, interesting plot. If it must end, at least finish the story.
I think Manhattan should continue. Not only was the programming many steps above the usual drool-fest you find on tv nowadays, it was interesting to those of us whose Parents were in that field, or were they? For once it was adult drama, no laugh track, and it kept us wondering what would happen next. The characters were all believable, the scenery made me thirsty, it was perfect. Please bring it back! We need sophisticated TV, not the usual who’s on who and what not. Thank you.
Oct. 13, 9pm, WGN, 2nd season begins.
WOW. I’ve watched a lot of movies/TV in my long life, and I can tell after just 2 discs, that this production is a WINNER in all respects! I love the historical authenticity of all the settings. The acting, especially of the lead characters, is totally believable. I admit I know little about this Top Secret era; but the series seems to be trying to provide a balanced and intimate view of a frightening time in our history. Fascinating and thought provoking – whether speculation or fact. Please, Please, PLEASE … DON’T CANCEL THIS SHOW!!! I already count on it… Read more »
Anxiously awaiting series two.
Great historic value in the 70th anniversary year of the A bomb.
With all the junk on TV, this is one I looked forward to every week. Well done and very informative. Please see it through.
Keep it going, please! We love this show!
Fantastic show! Really miss it!!! Not many shows of this quality around. Hope it will return.
I find Manhattan very entertaining and well done. The history of the bomb development has always been one of Americas biggest stories and finest moments. I can only hope this series is continued to its conclusion.
