What’s This TV Show About?
Alec Baldwin hosts Match Game, a reboot of the classic game show, airing on the ABC television network. In the series, contestants answer fun “fill in the blank” questions, hoping to match answers with as many of celebrities panelists as possible. They compete for a grand prize of $25,000. Celebrity panelists in season two of this ABC series include Jason Alexander, Cheryl Hines, Ice T, Ellie Kemper, Wayne Brady, Caroline Rhea, Amy Sedaris, Chris D’Elia, Constance Zimmer, Jane Krakowski, Rick Fox, Tituss Burgess, Andy Richter, Bellamy Young, Judy Greer, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and Skylar Astin.
Season Two Ratings
The second season of Match Game averaged a 0.85 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.35 million viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 21% in the demo and down by 35% in terms of total viewers. Learn how Match Game stacks up against the other ABC TV shows.

Telly’s Take
Although its audience is smaller in season two, Match Game’s ratings have risen in the ever important 18-49 year old demo. ABC has much more expensive scripted series performing about the same or worse than this game show. I don’t think I’ll get any satisfaction around here this year. I expect Match Game will be renewed for season three on ABC.

I find this show to be a lot of fun. I wish they had some better contestants, but they have so much fun at the bad ones’ expense.

This game show provides a fun, home audience participation alternative with familiar faces. The game is easy to follow and the connection to tbe original makes it that much more enjoyable. The network needs to keep this in the air.

I do enjoy the show but I wish it didn’t sound so scripted. Every joke is pre-written and rehearsed – and it sounds like it.
I was SO sceptical when I first started watching this, especially seeing I wasn’t sure if Alex Baldwin could pull it off.
And he does. In spades. Because of him and the fact this show literally makes me howl in laughter every week, it might just be the single most amazing game show to every be broadcast on TV.

You are so right! As a life long fan of the original with Gene Rayburn and their core group of regulars I was very sceptical but Alec Baldwin gets the job done! It is funny and the questions are great! This show needs to stay on for many years!
Most lame “comedy” imaginable. Moronic low brow humor, hosted by juvenile narcisist with a desparate need to be adored.
