Whether the Maya & Marty TV show on NBC will be cancelled or renewed for a second season is still up in the air. Talk at the Summer 2016 TCA presser indicates the network likes the live variety series starring comedians Maya Rudolph and Martin Short, but wishes the ratings had been more robust.
Chairman Robert Greenblatt has reportedly said Lorne Michaels’ newest TV show did well enough that the Peacock Network is looking for a way to “sustain” it. Per entertainment reporter Diane Gordon, Greenblatt added, “It’s a new franchise. You try things. Six episodes yielded a lot of great stuff.”
In its first six-episode season, which premiered May 31, 2016, Maya & Marty averaged a 1.17 in the 18-49 year old viewer ratings demographic and drew an average total audience of 4.728 million viewers.

Please bring Maya and Marty back! This show truly made some wonderful summer memories in 2016. I suppose it’s a good thing that we recorded the episodes as we’re watching them again. Bring the show back…it was awesome!!!
I liked the show it was a change of pace for one thing enjoyed but it could be a little more funnier keep the show, add someone that’s a little crazier to help Maya out Marty is funny but a little dated. Hope there’s a season 2
I think it was the world’s worst Tv show and should be buried peacefully and respectfully without fanfare and hope no one remembers it ever existed. ps I like Maya and martin was never funny, Retire Martin

I loved the Maya and Marty Variety show!!!! There is currently no other show like it on tv. They are hysterical and Pure Genius!!! Pease bring them back!!!
