CBS hasn’t announced that Medium has been cancelled but, while attending an event last weekend, Patricia Arquette said that the show will indeed be ending this season.
Like her character, series star Arquette can indeed see the future. Now, Medium creator Glenn Gordon Caron has confirmed that the drama is finished. Of the last episode, Caron wrote, “Allison Dubois will dream her last dream on Medium Friday, January 21st. In what we believe will be a series defining episode, Allison and her family will stare destiny in the eye. And destiny will not blink.”
The ratings for Medium have taken a real hit this season. Despite frequently winning its timeslot, the drama has averaged a 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 6.41 million viewers. CBS reduced the number of episodes to just 13 as a result.

I am very disappointed to learn CBS is cancelling Medium which I also believe is one of the best TV dramas left on TV. I became a regular viewer when CBS picked it up and have tried not to miss any episodes and have actually bought the other seasons on DVD that appeared on the other network. I feel this is a travesty and it appears CBS is not interested in appealing to viewers who are not 18-25 even though the older viewers have the most purchasing power for their commercials. I am really disappointed that CBS cancelled Medium. I love this show! It is one of the very few shows that can entertain you and give us a break from all the reality tv junk. They absolutely should have done the complete season. CBS – not a good move. So much of the other programming on TV is unwatchable. You had to take a good, family oriented show and cancel it. Is this story been confirmed at all ? The story says the last episode will be Fri. Jan. 21st. That CAN’T be true since that would mean this season only has 3 episodes ???

i will stop watching cbs as they cannot keep a great show on and have to put on trash ..

I am very disappointed that Medium is being cancelled. I really thought high of CBS of picking up Medium when NBC drop it. I even started watching more of CBS because of them taking on Medium. Medium is a great show and well written. Please do not cancel the show move it to another time slot if it is not doing well in the time slot now. Please if this show gets cancel another network please pick it up. CBS what are yall thinking….
This is an awesome show have been a fan regularly watching it for 4 years now since I found out.

WELL, I should have seen this coming!!! Everytime the networks have an excellent program, they don’t have BRAINS enough to keep it. I should never waste my time getting invested in a good tv program because it is always cancelled! I want no part of these reality shows that the networks are so fond of because they are CHEAP, in more ways than one, to produce. I love watching Medium. It has been one of my favorite shows forever. I hate reality TV. CBS should rethink their decision. I guess I should take up reading.
Medium is extremely well-written and is one of the best shows on televsion. I have to admit that I am becoming asccustomed to having my favorite shows canceled (I am still mourning Pushing Daisies, which was beautifully fairy tale-like in the way it dealt with death and murder). The cancelation of Medium has come out of left field for me. I hate to see Medium get cancelled. It is a well written show, a break from the every day cop shows, reality shows, and sitcoms that are an insult to anyone with morals or a brain in their head and not their pants.
Medium is a show of high quality. I enjoyed the performances of every one of it actors. I have to assume that CBS cancelled the show behind everyone’s back because of their lack of integrity and transparency. I’m extremely disappointed in CBS and with their decision. It may have been a “business decision” but remember CBS, when you create a show you touch people emotions. It isn’t fair to trash those feelings for the sake of corporate whims. One of our favorite family shows. Great acting, great scripts, very fun. What a mistake for the network to make! If it didn’t do well in it’s Friday slot, move it. Good shows that are allowed to stay on and build an audience are few and far between these days; makes you hesitant to try new shows because one day they are there, and the next they are gone. Maybe another network will get smart and pick it up. We will miss this show, and there isn’t another show like it!
Medium is the best written script on television. It has wonderful production value and a tight story with no down time. The acting is suburb. Not surprising our reality show driven public wants drivel instead of really good story.
