CBS hasn’t announced that Medium has been cancelled but, while attending an event last weekend, Patricia Arquette said that the show will indeed be ending this season.
Like her character, series star Arquette can indeed see the future. Now, Medium creator Glenn Gordon Caron has confirmed that the drama is finished. Of the last episode, Caron wrote, “Allison Dubois will dream her last dream on Medium Friday, January 21st. In what we believe will be a series defining episode, Allison and her family will stare destiny in the eye. And destiny will not blink.”
The ratings for Medium have taken a real hit this season. Despite frequently winning its timeslot, the drama has averaged a 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 6.41 million viewers. CBS reduced the number of episodes to just 13 as a result.

As usual, you networks cancel one of my favorite shows. You’ll probably replace it wit with another stupid reality show, which I will not watch. You’ll give me more free time but less entertainment.
First Ghost Whisperer and now Medium? What is one to do on a Friday night?
This is the only show I look foreward to watching on Friday night’s. I am so tired of reailty shows and NCSI show’s. I guess the next show to go will be The Good Wife. I guess these show’s did not have enough sex, blood ect in them. Teenager are not the only people who watch televison.
Again cbs makes a bad decesion. Medium is the only good program CBS has on. They can keep there shows. Reading is better than all the reality shows. I barely watch tv anymore. They can keep the trash they televise anymore. It stinks
LOVE MEDIUM!!!!! Another great show by the creator of Moonlighting gone! Will miss this on Friday nights, watching with my son. Also miss Joan of Arcadia which CBS cancelled. What to watch with my family? I will miss Bridget and Lee, great characters!
I am very sad that Medium hasn’t been renewed. It is my favorite program and is so well written and all the actors do such a wonderful job. I am losing faith in CBS…
Other than NFL football and NCAA basketball, this is the only thing worth watching on CBS. What a mistake! We’ve seen every episode since it’s beginning. Prior to them picking it up, we didn’t watch any CBS shows.
I do not want to see it end, one of the greatest joys in my life is watching this show on Friday nights or whatever night you want to stick it on. I too am tired of REALITY SHOWS that I never watch because they are an insult to the sane part of this world. Pleas reconsider this decision, most of us want to be entertained the old fashioned way.
I’m so bummed! I’ve been watching Medium since it first started – on NBC – and was shocked when it was cancelled the first time, then thrilled when CBS picked it up. It’s one of my favorite shows – and I look forward to it every week. I sure hope CBS will reconsider – as they’re truly making a huge mistake by cancelling this show!!
I’m just sick that CBS is cancelling “Medium”…..yet another good show bites the dust. Beginning to think I’ll start reading more and forget about television altogether. Really bad move on the part of CBS, in my opinion.
you are all strange in the head. Medium’s format has changed drastically and the newer episodes just aren’t good like the od ones. me and my mom used to watch it but the new season was bad. We watched it tonight and this episode (where she got kidnapped) was the best out of the season and took the show back to its roots. if a show is doing good it should NOT change writers, thats what shows like rugrats did. they changed writers and the show becoame horrible. I’ve been watching medium since the show first aired, its my favorite one, on cbs actaully the only one I watch on cbs. I think its a shame they have to cancel it. Its a good showthat u look forward to the changes and the store line
I cannot believe the only murder show that I watch (as I hate murder shows), but the one I make my self watch because of the plots are so good and I really love and rush home from work on Friday (the only show I watch Friday) is being canceled. Stupid move CBS. Stupid.
I’m surprised and saddened to hear Medium is cancelled. Like so many others writing here I totally detest reality TV. What a huge error for the network. That “vast wasteland” metaphor is made so much more accurate with this loss.

I so agree with this. I am so upset that they are cancelling Medium. I LOVE this show and very angry with CBS.Medium does not need to end just yet!!!! I also watched Ghost Whisperer and it was just cancelled, no ending no notice.
I just found out tonight (1/14) that the series was ending next week. I am really disappointed. I always loved this show and was happy it had come back again.
I am devastated. I just heard the shows been canceled. It was my favorite show.. I ‘ll miss Jake Webber as Joe. I already miss the older girl,Ariel. It is a shame the shows been canceled. I wish someone would rescue them..really..
