The latest medical drama on CBS is going the way of Three Rivers and NBC’s Mercy and Trauma. Miami Medical has been cancelled after one season on the air. However, there is some good news.
Miami Medical follows the exciting lives of a group of talented surgeons who work at one of the best trauma centers in the country. The Friday night drama features Lana Parrilla , Jeremy Northam, Omar Gooding, Mike Vogel, and Elisabeth Harnois.
The CBS medical series got off to a poor start on April 2nd with a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 7.59 million viewers. In week two, the numbers dropped to a 1.4 rating in the demo and 7.1 million viewers. Viewership has continued to tumble and thus far, the season has averaged a disappointing 1.3 rating in the demo and 6.7 million viewers.
To put these figures in perspective, Numb3rs’ season had better numbers — an average of a 1.8 rating and 8.27 million — and was ultimately cancelled.

And now, like so many of the other medical dramas from this season, Miami Medical has been cancelled. There won’t be a second season.
On the positive side, the show was scheduled to finish its run tonight, leaving five of its 13 episodes unaired. But now, CBS has added some additional airdates.
Next Friday’s will be a repeat of the pilot episode. Then, original episodes will return on June 4th, paired with new installments of Flashpoint. The last episode of Miami Medical is expected to air on July 2nd.
What do you think? Are you sorry to hear that Miami Medical’s been cancelled or should it have been pulled awhile ago?

This is BS like 24 but 24 was taken off after season 8 lets keep go show on the air so people can watch them
Only good show on on Fridays! Why are you taking it off and making Fridays suck again?!
I hate when they put a great show on like this. The T.V. ratings are crap. My wife and I have fell in love with so many of these type of shows only to watch them cut from air. I wish they would get a clue.
I’m so sad! I really loved this show. I have watched Greys Anatomy for years and I loved Miami Medical even more! It was actually funny and not so dramatic!
Well, I was wondering why this show hasn’t aired since the summer and I have found the answer. It is a shame since it was a good show to replace ER – very full of drama and kept you watching it. They should try airing the other episodes and then make the final descision on cutting it out of TV. Those stupid reality shows are taking over and what people need are good, down to earth shows.
Only my opinion though.
You should try airing this show on a better night where there are more viewers. People go out
on Friday nite so of couse the audience is less on a Friday nite then another night during the
week. I’m upset that they are cancelling some really good medical shows.. Miami Medical,
Mercy and Trauma… really sucks!!!!!
It was the best of last season. How sad that the garbage reality shows and dance shows remain. A tribute to sad TV land!
Much better show than ER. I will really miss it. Not everyone is able to o out on the weekends and Miami Medical was so refreshing/
Of course the ratings weren’t that high it was during the summer time people have stuff to do they should try running it during the fall when people aren’t so busy outdoors
I am really upset with CBS!! They are so stupid, why in the world would you cancel a good show like Miami Medical? There is way too much police type shows and investigator shows on, we needed a really good medical show to watch.
What a shame, the big wigs at CBS need to just go away, how stupid could they be?
I really enjoyed the show. I was so looking forward to season two. Every time a good show comes on it some how gets the hatchet job.
Damn it! I was looking forward to watching this show again . Oh well.
I LOVED THIS SHOW! Why, oh why can’t they give it a second season to see if it will move up in the ratings? Lots of good shows don’t take off until the second season. It had a great cast!
I agree another great show gone. My husband and I really enjoyed the show.
What a shame, this was such a reprieve from all the murder and mayham that is taking place on tv, following the lives of everyone on this medical drama was a refreshing difference. We were just getting to know everyone, what a lose. shame shame on CBS for not allowing this show to come into its own.
