TV show description:
A supernatural drama based on the book series of the same name, from True Blood author Charlaine Harris, the Midnight, Texas TV show plays out in a community which is located on the very veil between Earth and Hell. The story centers on the locals — human or otherwise — who populate this small town.
A charismatic man with a sarcastic wit and remarkable abilities, Manfred Bernardo (Arnaud) is a psychic medium who finds refuge in Midnight. He has built a circle of both human and supernatural allies. He routinely communicates with his deceased grandmother, Xylda (Camp).
Bobo Winthrop (Bruce) owns the local pawnshop. Although his past is shrouded in secrecy, Bobo is loyal to his neighbors, both human and supernatural.
A witch, Fiji Cavanaugh (Fitz-Henley) owns The Inquiring Mind, a Wiccan shop. She adores Mr. Snuggly (Joe Smith), her snarky cat, and carries a torch for Bobo.
Despite her name, which might lead people to believe she is harmless, Olivia Charity (Kebbel) is an assassin skilled in hand-to-hand combat. Her weapons collection is vast.
Olivia is deeply connected to Lemuel Bridger (Mensah), a sage and powerful vampire. He covers the night shift at Bobo’s shop, and is one of Midnight’s senior residents.
Joe Strong (Lewis) is an angel who has been on earth for thousands of years, and lives in Midnight with his husband, Chuy (Bernardo Saracino). Joe’s neighbors don’t realize he is an angel. He bides his time, just waiting for “the One” who can save Midnight from an extremely evil threat.
An aspiring writer involved with Manfred, Creek Lovell (Ramos) has some big ambitions. Her father, Shawn (Jesser), is overly protective of her, and her younger brother, Connor (John-Paul Howard). Creek is shocked when she learns her family’s secret.
Meanwhile, the reticent Reverend Emilio Sheehan (Vázquez) disappears each month, thanks to the full moon. Normally, though, he busies himself at the Midnight Chapel and Pet Cemetery.
The remote Texas town serves as a haven for those who need to hide from the world at large. The townies have come together to form a sort of chosen family. Together they fend off nosy police officers, vicious biker gangs, and their own dark pasts.
In Midnight, nothing is what it seems. Here, only outsiders belong, and normality is just plain weird.
Series Finale:
Episode #22 — Yasss, Queen
With dark witches ruling Midnight — now known as Patience, Texas — the surviving Midnighters must band together in one final, desperate attempt to save their town.
First aired: December 28, 2018.
What do you think? Do you like the Midnight, Texas TV series? Should it have been cancelled or renewed for a third season?
I absolutely enjoyed this different and quirky show. Why do all the networks think we all want stupid sitcoms or cop/law shows?
Yep, they love canceling shows that are actually good. All those other cookie cutter formula shows last for 10 years. A show like this should be able to last just as long. Hopefully some outlet picks up the rights and continues development….HELLOOOOO NETFLIX!!!
sadly if anyone was going to pick it up, should have been Hulu.. they run the existing episodes(well, season one then season two but removed season one).. Still hoping it gets picked up. but then again millions of signatures to petition for Grimm did nothing.. stupid.
Don’t cancel
Don’t cancel!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love this show and it should have a third season their are still unanswered questions for them
Love this show….I wish they would reconsider !!!!
Renewed for a third season
Why is it that networks seem to always cancel the good shows, and keep the ones that have no originality? #Midnight has great plots, wonderful duality and solid characters with enough issues of their own that it could easily go 5 seasons before going out with spectacular closures. It’s a real shame that they can’t let their watchers have the complete potential of the stories.
This was a great show….I came back every week… Now it’s back to the aimless channel surfing of mediocre shows…
I agree, I truly looked forward to the show on Fridays. It was a shame the network canceled it. I hope another network picks it up. NBC will more than likely lose some of its viewers because of this cancellation. I know I will not be watching this station, at least not on Friday nights.
Can’t believe a.show that rated so high.among viewers is canceled, i just shake my head.
Season 1 was spectacular, good plots, great characters, a ton of fun. Season 2 is disasterous, I can see why many in the original cast bailed. Horribly violent, destruction of the basic characters, not fun at all. Glad I own season 1, won’t be purchasing season 2. Really too bad, cast deserved much better material. Best of luck to them: I will look for them in other projects.
This is ridiculous it was an awesome show and had so much more to give and what kind of finale is that really
Why do they keep cancelling really good shows, they don’t give them a chance, I love this show
I think this was a really great series it should be renewed.
I LOVED Midnight, Texas. I am a long-standing fan of Supernatural and was thrilled to have another show of the same type to watch each week. I also loved Tru Blood by Ms. Harris. Someone should talk with the CW. Those guys know how to deliver the goods. NBC has a problem with really good storylines apparently. Save Manfred and the rest!!!!
