Despite having low ratings, it looks like ABC’s Mistresses might end up getting renewed for a second season anyway.
TVLine reports that the network has quietly extended their options on the show’s core cast through the end of September.
While the Monday night drama could still be cancelled, this move means that ABC hasn’t given up on Mistresses just yet and likely wants to see how the whole season performs before making a decision.
Mistresses has been averaging a 1.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.84 million total viewers. The most recent installment hit a series low with a 1.0 rating and 3.47 million.
The network ordered 13 episodes and the last of them will air on September 9th.

Yes this is a good drama. It has a little bit for everyone. Finding the right time slot or making it a season replacement would open it up to more viewers. A lot of people have their schedules set but I know for sure I am adding it to my line up. Give it another chance. This is a good strong cast of actors who offer a lot not to mention a good tasteful script. I really can relate with the characters.

Maybe they should change the night it airs on, there would probably be a lot more viewers on Sunday evening.
