TNT recently wrapped the first season of Monday Mornings, their latest medical drama. Should it return for a second season or be cancelled instead?
Monday Mornings follows the lives of the talented yet flawed doctors at the Chelsea General Hospital in Portland, Oregon. The title refers to the tough peer review meetings that are run by the hospital’s sarcastic Chief of Staff. The cast includes Ving Rhames, Jamie Bamber, Jennifer Finnigan, Bill Irwin, Keong Sim, Sarayu Rao, Emily Swallow, and Alfred Molina.
The show started off the season with just 1.36 million viewers and a 0.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic. That was less than half of what the Dallas premiere lead-in drew with 2.98 million and a 0.8 demo rating.
The numbers for Monday Mornings didn’t get much better as the weeks wore on. The season ended up averaging just 1.39 million viewers and a 0.3 in the demo.
Given these numbers, it seems highly unlikely that Monday Mornings will be back for a second season.
But what do you think? Would you like to see the show return for a second season or do you think it should be cancelled? Why do you think the show didn’t catch on with a bigger audience? Was the title a problem? What would you have called it?
Great show with interesting personalities and situations. Love to see it continue.
Please Do Not Cancel this Show!!! This Is The Greaest Show On
Right now! I Love this Show & the Cast is So Awesome! Best Medcial Drama
Since ER & House…it might have helped to have a Diffrent Name or Channel
But I really Hope this show can make it to One More Season I Think that will Help it
Tremendously! Hang on Monday Mornings!
Should be renewed– need more publicity-and
network interviews to bring it to the general public
second season–more viewers–for sure
This has become one of the best shows on TV. Wish it were on a prime channel.
Serous key?!? This show is THEE BEST show on right now….please don’t cancel!!!
Absolutely LOVE this show.. Please bring it back. The characters are so intriging.. Rating could have been better if there had been more adveristment on the local channels and possibly if it started at 9p instead of 10p. Don’t cancel another fantastic show.
I love this show, and yes it certainly should come back. The problem with the name may be simply Monday Morning comes on Monday night. I’m reading the book now and the series stays so true to character. Let me add that Iam an RN and know its realistic. Thank you Lisa Barnes, RN
Please renew this show it is my favorite this year!!!!
Excellent show! Good characters. Outstanding relationships. The concept is awesome. Lessons learned is always a good review/feedback process. Move it to a different time slot. Going against established hits may hinder audiences getting the opportunity to see and grow to love this show. Better promotion would probably help too.
Please renew! Great characters and writing. My favorite show on TV.
RENEW!!! PLEASE GIVE THIS UNIQUE PROGRAM THE CHANCE THAT IT DESERVES! THE CHARACTERS AND STORY LINES ARE SUPERB AND ONE OF A KIND WHICH SETS IT APART FROM ANT OTHER PROGRAM. PLEASE RENEW!
Our entire family, ages 40’s to mid 60’s watch this program. This is the best new series on tv, would be great if time slot were 9pm pacific! Renew!!
WHERE DID MONDAY MORNINGS GO AND WHY? I WAS NOT AWARE THAT LAST WEEKS EPISODE WAS THE END OF YHE SEASON! GREAT PROGRAM FOR INTELLIGENT MINDS!
Best show on TV with no promotion or advertising and a terrible time slot. Please please please give it a chance.
I like this show a lot!
It’s the only medical TV show I’ve seen which realistically depicts doctors’ self criticism .
I’m a physician and their Monday Morning is just like our Wednesday Conference was. Nasty, educational, unfair, even brutish. Always for the benefit of he patient and the stimulation of beneficent thinking.
Please run MMs for a 2nd season!!!!!!!! Having worked in the medical field this show is a true representation of reality. This show has not been advertised enough to catch on. Don’t let it go before giving it another chance.
