Over the weekend, CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler confirmed that the Three Rivers TV show had indeed been cancelled. Now that Alex O’Loughlin is finished with that series, does that mean that Moonlight will be coming back?
Moonlight follows private investigator and vampire Mick St. John (O’Loughlin) and Beth Turner (Sophia Myles), an Internet reporter. St. John saved Beth’s life as a child and the two develop a romantic relationship years later. Others in the series include Jason Dohring, Shannyn Sossamon, and Brian J. White
Though Moonlight had decent ratings and a devout group of followers, CBS decided to cancel the series after just one season. The network wanted to stay in business with O’Loughlin however and that eventually led to him being cast in Three Rivers.

While some Moonlight fans followed O’Loughlin to the new series, many didn’t. Some people who have posted to this site have said that they refused to watch Three Rivers in hopes that this would somehow convince/force CBS to revive Moonlight.
Now that Three Rivers has been officially cancelled, will Moonlight be back? While Tassler proudly takes credit for being ahead of the current vampire craze, she says that the network has no plans to revive the little-watched cult favorite.
Despite his show’s low ratings, Tassler does still believe in O’Loughlin’s talent and said, “We’re trying to find something for him.”

I would love to see Moonlight come back, but I will watch Aex in anything that showcases his talent and gorgeousness( I don’t think that’s a word). Anyway, I’m looking forward to the Backup Plan and Hawaii Five 0. Hopefully, CBS will give this show more than a one season shot. They owe Alex that much.
Please bring back MOONLIGHT!!! I really love watching vampire movies esp. this one, because of this series some facts about vamps is very knowleadgeable, and I love Alex O’ Loughlin, please revive the series.
i would definitely watch moonlight if it came back, it was exceptionally fantastic. i loved the stories and it had so much more stories to tell..i loved mick and beth – they had such great chemistry and cbs didn’t give it a chance. i watched the pilot of three rivers and i didn’t like it, we have too many medical shows, and three rivers could not compete w/those. i hope they bring it back, everybody in my family watched each week- it was a “must see” for all of us..
i think CBS should bring back Moonlight. it is one of the best shows they had(besides all the CSIs shows) yall were the first to have a vampire show and should continue to do it. SO PLEASE I BEG OF YOU BRING IT BACK!!!!! i didn’t like Three Rivers at all and i didn’t want to watch it b/c i miss watching Moonlight. come on CBS your most loyal fans are begging you to put this show back on listen to us and do it please
Please bring back Moonlight that was my favorite show it was something that I looked forward to everyweek .Tvs not the same without it
Moonlight needs to come back. I never knew of this show when it came out. Not much publicity on it or something. I recently started watching it and I am seriously hooked to the show. If they tried to have some more publicity and advertisements I would think many would watch it. Considering Twilight has come out in the past few years I think this would be the perfect time to reopen Moonlight. I would think CBS would catch many viewers from Twilight.

I would love it if Moonlight comes back! I miss Mick St. John so much! When I found out that the show was canceled, I cried for 3 days because I was so upset for him and for all of us fans of his! I watched Three Rivers, and even though I loved Alex as Andy, I just thought that the show did not have enough to survive. I think it was a big mistake for CBS to cancel Moonlight to begin with. I wrote, and I know a lot of other people did, too, but when do the network head honchos listen to the public? They have absolutely no clue! The look at numbers, and numbers don’t always speak the truth because they can be skewed or doctored, or erroneous! CBS top executives need their heads examined. They were the first with a vampire series before the vampire craze began and CANCEL to pave the way for it to happen! Moonlight needs to come back and they need to CANCEL the top execs instead. No new shows get a chance anymore, they are all pulled before people can see if they want to watch it!
I love Moonlight because of the characters Mick & Beth & Josef. Moonlight was not about Alex, it was never about Alex!!! The show was good because of the vampires, and well, vampires are hot and sexy.
Three Rivers was garbage so it’s beyond stupid to me that CBS canceled Moonlight just to put him in that maudlin medical show. Bring back Moonlight, please!!
Yes, please bring MOONLIGHT back. There’s already a built-in audience and the fan base continued to grow and build on rather than diminish since the cancellation. Moonlight most definitely helped Alex’s career as more people are discovering ML and him from the reruns on Syfy and Chiller channels. Did he get any new fans from Three Rivers, I highly doubt many. Three Rivers dealt a setback to his career, the show and cast performance were bad enough that CBS refused to air the last 4 or 5 episodes even though they were already completed. They seriously need to bring Moonlight back. I just got back into it when it was airing on Syfy and I’m seriously hooked. They left that show so freeking open for more plotlines it’s rediculous. The show isn’t even CLOSE to being explained or finished, and CBS needs to bring it back. I’m tired of the stupid “reality shows” that are on. The whole reason I watch TV is to get away from the morons in life and they take away great shows like Firefly and especially Moonlight. Moonlight was the best show ever!! My husband and I love it and just bought season 1 on DVD…please bring it back!!!!! Alex is so great in it!!!!
I want moonlight to come back!!! I’ve always been a fan of vampire movies and series. Moonlight is on my list as one of my favs. Hopefully soon Alex O’ Loughlin will make up his mind to come onto Moonlight once again. WE NEED MORE FANS!!!! Then maybe they will decide to put it back on. This show does deserve a second chance to do something great for the franchise. People need to spread the word!!!!
