The final note has sounded. The Mozart in the Jungle TV show has been cancelled after four seasons on Amazon. The executive producers have confirmed there will be no fifth season. Check out their statement, below.
An Amazon Prime comedy drama, Mozart in the Jungle stars Gael García Bernal, Lola Kirke, Malcolm McDowell, Bernadette Peters, Saffron Burrows, and Hannah Dunne. Guest stars in in the fourth season include Debra Monk, Masi Oka, Michael Emerson, and John Cameron Mitchell. Based on Blair Tindall’s memoir, Mozart in the Jungle: Sex, Drugs & Classical Music, the series peeks behind the curtains at the New York Symphony.

“We are so proud of the four seasons we made of this show and are grateful to the cast, crew, fans and Amazon for writing this symphony with us,” executive producers Paul Weitz, Will Graham, Roman Coppola and Jason Schwartzman said iun [sic] a statement. “We hope people will keep finding the show for years to come.”

I agree with rickyrod. Very very disappointed that there is no closure. Hate the dangling storylines. Not much else here to enjoy… back to Netflix.
How unfortunate that there isn’t going to be a 5th season as quality shows like Mozart in the Jungle are so rare today. Especially ones like this that send a positive message without excessive sex or gore. We watched every episode with our Amazon Prime subscription and for this show I’d pay extra. I can’t believe that with the creative group of people making Mozart in the Jungle that there wasn’t a story line created for a 5th season – it almost seemed the show was preparing us for things that were coming but didn’t show up in season 4.… Read more »
Nooo! Please please renew Mozart in the Jungle for Season 5 and beyond! I am absolutely in love with this show. I know I’m not alone when I say I need to know what happens with Maestro Rodrigo’s career, with Hailey’s career and most of all with their undeniable love affair. The ensemble for this show is superb; the writing and direction innovative and delightful; Gael García Bernal is the perfect choice for this role.

I only got Amazon prime for this show . It’s so unique and inspiring . Why is it cancelled again? Done with Amazon !
This is such a good show. I would love to see the next chapter in HaiLai and Rodrigo’s and all of the character’s lives. Too soon to end it. Imho.
“Mozart in the Jungle” is by far my favorite program produced by Amazon, and I’m very disappointed to read of its cancellation. Season 4 was a fun rebound from Season 3, which went off-course, IMO. I’ll share my opinion with Amazon, and hope all of you will share yours as well.

Myself and my family are really saddened and frustrated that Mozart in the Jungle has been cancelled! It was our favourite show. Would love to know the reasons for its cancellation … might another channel or service provider take it on??
I am very sorry to hear that the show has been cancelled. We enjoyed it thoroughly and really hoped there would be a fifth season. The fourth season ended so unhappily and left so much unresolved. It is a very unfortunate decision and I would like to know more about why the producers made this choice.
Really upset that we will no longer be able to share the future of the individuals and the orchestra. I know that here in the UK there are thousands of Jungle fans who will be really disappointed. I don’t understand why you would kill off an award winning and innovative programme.
Please…say it ain’t so! We love Mozart in the Jungle and are so bummed to read that it has been cancelled after 4 seasons when there are still so many story lines to be resolved. It is a terrific show…beautiful music, great story and delightful characters and we sure hope Amazon and the producers of the show will change their decision!
