Mr. Selfridge, which airs on PBS in the US, has wrapped production on its fourth and final season. There will not be a fifth season. News that the series was cancelled was never actually confirmed, but Amanda Abbington said that the fourth season would be the last.
Jeremy Piven went to his Twitter on Friday, and he revealed that production had wrapped. His tweet also retweeted a message confirming the end of the series by Abbington.
It has been such a pleasure, 4 seasons in the books… #MrSelfridge https://t.co/qCl4QMIMva

When will the fourth season air on PBS? Cartermatt reported on Monday that fans can expect the final season to premiere on the network in March.
Are you sad to hear about the end of Mr. Selfridge? Tell us what you think.
Nooooooooo! We need more episodes! Please! Like saying goodbye to family forever ach!
Just found the series on Amazon and watched 3 seasons in 2weeks….. mesmerizing. Cannot wait to see the final season but will be sad to see it go
No season 5?
Just finished season 4, what a great season but I’m devastated that the shows been cancelled.
CSS: So sorry and disappointed upon reading of cancellation of show, I just discovered the show at the 4th season? a excellent story line along with such diverse cast, I love so many of the British series, their so believable, and thia series stands out among the best, I pray that you find a way to bring this series back, I’ve enjoyed every bit of it.
You can get the first 3 seasons on Amazon! Love every minute!!
I am so disappointed and sad to hear Mr. Selfridge is finishing. It is truly a great show – entertaining and visually beautiful not to mention the great acting involved! It is a shame – not many quality shows like this one around any more!
You did it to us with The Paradise, now Mr Selfridges? I was LITTERALLY depressed for a week after you chose to cancel The Paradise. I became so involved with the characters in a very personal way. Very unusual for me. Then was visiting with my Uncle, a disabled and decorated marine , tells me he is sad cause one of his favorite shows( the paradise) was cancelled. Imagine my shock when I realized we were sad over the loss of the same show!!!! My uncle is a ” tough guy” and watched it unashamed. He said they don’t write… Read more »
Hi Rebecca, I am a journalism student at Northwestern University and I am writing a story about the cancellation of TV programs, specifically Mr. Selfridge. I would love to speak with you about how the cancellation is affecting you. If you have a moment, my email is: emilykvitko2019@u.northwestern.edu.
Show was great; unfortunate to cancel just when it was getting going.
Very sad to see season 4 being the final season of Mr. Selfridge. Considering he wasn’t ousted until 1941 at the age of 83, I’m sure the producers could have squeezed out one more season. Fabulous show that I started watching in England with my parents and kept up to date online while living in the States.
Love SelfRidge show, sad 4th season is the last season. Why his legacy is losing everything while he loves customers and his employees? Selfridge store still standing on Oyxford street these days, right?
Well, he has almost reached the point where Mr. Selfridge went broke and ended up living out his life totally destitute (I read about him), so they may as well end it-which is the way the series has been feeling, anyway. I hope he had a good time while he squandered al his wealth. The way things are going, it doesn’t seem likely he would have survived the Great Depression, anyway. I have enjoyed the series, especially after Piven stopped acting like someone on a manic high.
I suspect he acted exactly how Selfridge did when he first opened his store in England: brash, loud, and Type A fast.
I just watched all 3 seasons, sad to hear season 4 will be the last
As a former employee of Marshall Field & Co. – Chicago , State Street, I feel like I am mourning the loss of the greatest department store in the world all over again!
Just like Selfridges , Marshall Fields was the most opulent, exciting, visually stimulating place for anyone to see. Seeing the sets on Selfridges reminded me of all those beautiful store windows at the holidays, the amazing and unusual merchandise, and of course the outstanding customer service. To quote Marshall Field himself “Give the lady what she wants!”. There will never be another Fields, nor another Selfridges season…..
When will the season 4 dvd be available?
I’m very disappointed that Mr. Selfridge is being cancelled. It was one of the few shows that are fit to watch unless yo enjoy smut. Please reconsider your descision a lot of people feell the same as I do.
I love this show and am very sorry that Season 4 will be the last.
