Though Nashville hasn’t been a stellar hit for ABC, it is the network’s most successful new series of the season. As a result, ABC has ordered a full season of episodes.
Nashville follows the story of country music’s Rayna James (Connie Britton), a legendary superstar whose popularity is starting to fade. Her producers offer her a joint tour with an up-and-comer, Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere), the young and sexy future of country music. The cast also includes Powers Boothe, Charles Esten, Eric Close, Clare Bowen, Jonathan Jackson, Sam Palladio, Robert Wisdom, and Judith Hoag.
The series debuted to a 2.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 8.93 million total viewers. The ratings fell by 29% in week two, hitting a 2.0 rating with 6.74 million. While the Halloween night episode dropped to a 1.8 rating, the show seems to have stabilized at a 2.0 demo rating.
Nashville marks the second full-season order of the season for a new ABC show. The first was for newbie sitcom The Neighbors. Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue both received additional script orders but no additional episodes have been ordered.
What do you think? Have you been watching Nashville on ABC? Are you glad to hear they’ve ordered more episodes? Do you think it will be renewed for a second season?
My husband and I love Nashville. So happy it is staying on.
I love Nashville! It’s my favorite show. I love the story line, and, the country music. I hope it stays on the air. But, I missed the finale episode this year, and, don’t know what happened. I want to know if there will be a rerun sometime this winter, so, I can see it. And, what station?

the show must go on. it is great!
really tirerd of all the reruns great show though
Don’t get attached to any good shows on ABC they cancelled all the good ones! Just watch what they put out for the show you like. You can add your own ending because they won’t. Nashville is a top notch musical drama show. so that means they will cancel it. Now Emily on Revenge is still killing. If you can’t kill your enemies in three years give up. the stories old now. Nashville is new exciting and lots of music. But Revenge can be syndicated with a couple more episodes. Don’t matter what the viewer wants it’s all about money.… Read more »

we watch Nashville all the time and love the show – however we are getting sick of it because they keep putting on reruns. What is going on.
Love This Show….I can’t wait for Wed Night to find out what happens next…
Me too! My favorite show!!
Nashville is great! So glad it wasn’t cancelled. I was about to give up on commercial television. But quit jerking people around with so many reruns during the season.
I love this show. It is the best on TV i believe it would be a better show if Abc would just not do reruns within the season. it makes everyone upset and hard to follow. Keep this show .
I love Nashville…it is the best show on ABC in my opinion…..PLEASE PLEASE do not cancell it….TV is soooo bad with all the reality shows that Nashville is a breath of fresh air among all of those that I do not watch.
This show is incredible but they show a new episode , then go away for weeks. What programming knucklehead is running this rollout? This could be THE ABC star…. give it a chance to succeed by running sequential new episodes… We have an NASHVILLE watching club but most are disgusted by the programming decisions. WHAT a great cast! What great music! What stupid programming!.
I love this show. I can’t wait for Wednesday nights to come so I can see it. Please don’t cancel Nashville; it is one of the best shows on TV. How can you even think of canceling this show. Please stop with the reruns! Why are we seeing reruns already? I anxiously wait for the show to come on and what do I get, a rerun! I love the music so much. Can it be purchase on a CD? I just love it when the sisters sing. These two young girls are so talented. I would buy a CD by… Read more »
Nashville is my favorite show and I can’t stand that there are reruns and we’re not warned. I’m thrilled about it being picked up again, but if the reruns continue, I will stop watchin it.
I agree!
