Nashville will air an all-new episode on ABC later tonight, but fans know the end is near. The network cancelled the series last week, but there is still hope. With the people behind the series actively looking for a new home, it is possible that the series could return for a fifth season.
However, Connie Britton has already shared a message with her fans about the cancellation of the series on social media. She shared the following message after the news broke, according to TV Line:
“To the amazing friends and family who are Nashville, to the cast and crew, and most of all to the fans…I’d just like to say it’s been my honor to be a part of this world, to live in it and breathe it in and try to replicate it. Sometimes we were more successful than others. But the place of Nashville in my heart is deep and permanent. I am grateful for the hard work and faith of so many who dedicated themselves to creating and supporting this show. And I am forever changed for the better. Thanks for the music.”
According to TV Guide, the actress also spoke about the cancellation of the series on a talk show appearance earlier this week. Nashville has been a big part of her life. She has raised her adopted son there since 2011. She said the following:
“I’ll talk to my Nashville friends, and they’re all devastated. It’s a real bummer also for the town too. I’m going to miss those people so much. I’m so upset, then I talk to my friends in L.A., and they’re like, ‘We’re so happy you’re coming home.’ So I’m just like, I don’t know what I feel! [My son is] 5, and we’ve been doing the show there for four years, so it’s a big deal. It’s over. The end of an era. I think he’s going to just ditch me now because he’s like, ‘I’m staying in Nashville now. These people are cool. I’m learning how to play the drums. See you later.'”

I am devastated by this news! Nashville is the one show I look forward to every week. I really hope another network picks it up. I cannot believe that ABC would cancel it. So sad and casts a huge shadow on network television!

I just finished watching tonight’s episode of Nashville. My mouth is still wide from the shock of the series being cancelled. WHY?!?!?!?! I am so invested in the show and all the characters. PLEASE somebody pick this show up. It is a gem!!!!!!!!

I am shocked and so so bummed and disappointed that this fabulous show is being cancelled! Why on earth would ABC cancel this show? I just don’t get it:( There is so much junk on tv these days that should be cancelled. Nashville is such a fantastic show and should be saved!!!
ABC famously cancels good TV shows. Not sure where they get their information about what makes good entertainment. They aren’t interested in what people think. I hope another Network picks Nashville up. So disappointed to see it end.
I’m so devastated that they cancelled Nashville! It’s a great show with a great cast & crew. When I heard it was cancelled I thought for sure it was an ugly rump that wasn’t true :(. There are so many crap shows that are still on while the networks keep canceling any great show as soon as it may hit A rating bump. When that happens, make changes & give it a chance! Please bring Nashville back, it is my favorite tv program and to be honest, the only one on ABC that I do watch! PLEASE, BRING IT BACK or I pray that another network will pick it up, because the cast is excellent and they are so talented, doing original songs and not covers!

Please someone pick up Nashville. Why do they keep on cancelling family shows which we all feel a big part of?? Oh yeah, to have more talk shows, unrealistic sick shows and things normal people turn off anyway!! Hate networks not thinking these things through and getting the publics input.
I look so forward to this program continuing. I am hoping that another what network will take consideration this is a great show.Not only are the performers wonderful but the music is awesome.I’m in love with country music I listen to it everyday. These actors musical entertainers are just fabulous I don’t know how much more to say but please consider taking this program.
I agree, there is nothing like Nasville on TV. The country music is great (never liked country before but love the music on Nashville). The acting is so genuine you forget it’s not real. We can only hope some station picks this series up because it will be a real loss if it’s really over. So sad!
I would love to see the series Nashville picked up by another Network. I watch very little TV because I don’t find great quality there. but I absolutely love Nashville. I don’t miss an episode. .. the story lines, the music, and the characters are captivating. Please keep it on the air somebody! Please.
