Nashville will air an all-new episode on ABC later tonight, but fans know the end is near. The network cancelled the series last week, but there is still hope. With the people behind the series actively looking for a new home, it is possible that the series could return for a fifth season.
However, Connie Britton has already shared a message with her fans about the cancellation of the series on social media. She shared the following message after the news broke, according to TV Line:
“To the amazing friends and family who are Nashville, to the cast and crew, and most of all to the fans…I’d just like to say it’s been my honor to be a part of this world, to live in it and breathe it in and try to replicate it. Sometimes we were more successful than others. But the place of Nashville in my heart is deep and permanent. I am grateful for the hard work and faith of so many who dedicated themselves to creating and supporting this show. And I am forever changed for the better. Thanks for the music.”
According to TV Guide, the actress also spoke about the cancellation of the series on a talk show appearance earlier this week. Nashville has been a big part of her life. She has raised her adopted son there since 2011. She said the following:
“I’ll talk to my Nashville friends, and they’re all devastated. It’s a real bummer also for the town too. I’m going to miss those people so much. I’m so upset, then I talk to my friends in L.A., and they’re like, ‘We’re so happy you’re coming home.’ So I’m just like, I don’t know what I feel! [My son is] 5, and we’ve been doing the show there for four years, so it’s a big deal. It’s over. The end of an era. I think he’s going to just ditch me now because he’s like, ‘I’m staying in Nashville now. These people are cool. I’m learning how to play the drums. See you later.'”

I love the show. I look forward to every Wed. As a sooner myself, who at a young age that’s all I wanted to do, but life took over, became pregnant, got married. Definitely, not the right order. ..so this show had helped me to know behind the scene stories of stuggles, success, failures, and the awesome music. …PLEASE BRING IT BACK! !!
I am so upset to learn that Nashville is canceled. The show has kept me engaged for the past four years and something I look forward to on a Wednesday night. The actors are extremely talented, the music a sheer joy, great fashion and always a good message for young people. I have heard that the actors give back so much to the Nashville community too. I am hopeful that another network will seize this wonderful opportunity and continue the show. Thank you cast and crew for one of the best series on network TV.

I’m speechless. Had no idea this was coming. It’s my favorite. Can’t wait to see it each week. The hour flies by with incredible story lines, lovable, but complicated characters and great music. Please say it isn’t so! Devastated to hear this.

I was shocked to see the show was being cancelled. It’s one of my favorites that I look forward to each week. The story lines are still good and characters are still developing. It’s too soon to cancel. I would love to see another Network or outlet pick up Nashville.
Please bring this show back. Theres not any other tv show that addresses current issues the way this one does. I also cannot think of any other tv shows who have the music that this one does. Everyone is so talented and I look forward to listening to the music week after week.
Abc, is this the continuing end of the networks? Another Keifer Sutherland attempt to recapture the old days of 24? Sad really. Lined up some great writing talent on the next season and killed it to do more of the same old but maybe it’s worse, because it wasn’t an abc production it was greed. Ouch, no not network tv! Losers, all of us!
