Nashville will air an all-new episode on ABC later tonight, but fans know the end is near. The network cancelled the series last week, but there is still hope. With the people behind the series actively looking for a new home, it is possible that the series could return for a fifth season.
However, Connie Britton has already shared a message with her fans about the cancellation of the series on social media. She shared the following message after the news broke, according to TV Line:
“To the amazing friends and family who are Nashville, to the cast and crew, and most of all to the fans…I’d just like to say it’s been my honor to be a part of this world, to live in it and breathe it in and try to replicate it. Sometimes we were more successful than others. But the place of Nashville in my heart is deep and permanent. I am grateful for the hard work and faith of so many who dedicated themselves to creating and supporting this show. And I am forever changed for the better. Thanks for the music.”
According to TV Guide, the actress also spoke about the cancellation of the series on a talk show appearance earlier this week. Nashville has been a big part of her life. She has raised her adopted son there since 2011. She said the following:
“I’ll talk to my Nashville friends, and they’re all devastated. It’s a real bummer also for the town too. I’m going to miss those people so much. I’m so upset, then I talk to my friends in L.A., and they’re like, ‘We’re so happy you’re coming home.’ So I’m just like, I don’t know what I feel! [My son is] 5, and we’ve been doing the show there for four years, so it’s a big deal. It’s over. The end of an era. I think he’s going to just ditch me now because he’s like, ‘I’m staying in Nashville now. These people are cool. I’m learning how to play the drums. See you later.'”
The finale for the series will air next Wednesday night. Do you want another network to come in and save Nashville from the grim reaper? Tell us what you think.

Nashville is my favourite show. Great story lines, love the songs, it just makes me happy each week and I look forward to the next. Please don’t take it off. Too many are leaving the networks for Netflix etc. If you want us to watch your network, then give us good shows and don’t take off the good ones.
Why is this being cancelled???? Love this show, the characters, the music.
YES! Love this show and the characters. And the music. Why why why is it being cancelled???
Nashville is one of my favorite shows. Please find a way for them to make a 5th 6th 7th 8th 9th etc. Season. This out with the old, in with the new is ridiculous. Most of the new shows are not worth my time or the electricity for the television to have them on. And I am so tired of murder television I could scream. Please reconsider your decision and bring Nashville back.
Please, please, please don’t cancel the most AMAZING television series I’ve EVER seen (and I’m 64 years old). For the last 3 years I’ve been hearing that the show was going to be canceled and I couldn’t believe it. Every time the new season began I was absolutely thrilled! I’ve bought every Nashville CD and I listen to them constantly. I was not particularly a country music fan until I began watching this series and now I am hooked. Two years ago I was diagnosed with uterine cancer and required surgery. When I was given the option of having my… Read more »
I was devastated to hear they are cancelling Nashville. One of my favorite shows look forward to watching every week. GREAT cast, music and the story lines are just getting better. Please bring it back its to good to cancel.
What is wrong with ABC??????? Any show that is good or has a story line to it they cancel????? How many is that this year???? Keep it up and your station will go down the drain! Suppose you replace good series with stupid reality shows!!!! Come on!!
I agree. ABC will probably replace it with something as stupid as Goldberg and Blackish.
My exact thoughts. I cannot stand reality tv shows and they are ridiculous and boring to watch people be incredibly stupid or vein.
I fully agree with cathy’s comments wake up abcprFZ
I soon agree with you – they have cancelled sooooo many solid shows for stupid ratings that they don’t consider the people who love and appreciate these shows are loyal fans. It is so darn political. I do hope another network reaps the benefits of the-is show and continues. No way does any story line make sense to end it in a one episode left Series Finale…. dumb, dumb and dumber.
Please do not cancel Nashville. The acting was great with good storylines and fabulous music. One of the few shows on network TV that I would watch. I am so sick of that cheap reality TV that the Networks are filling the airwaves with. More and more I am turning to Cable not mainstream networks. I truly hope that another network will recognize the value of this wonderful show!
I am disappointed Nashville has been cancelled. I hope they find another network that will pick them up for another season. I love the singing talent on the show.
Great music and story line. I hate this is happenning please find another network or Netflix. This was the best show ever
My son and I look forward to watching Nashville every week. We would like another network to pick it up as the characters still carry good and developing story lines. NASHVILLE is also very excellent background for a motion picture.
YESSSSS Please bring Nashville back…..
Keep Nashville going…it is the best show on TV…so sick of realiies…need this show,..music , drama, a little laughter…what is wrong with is network!!!!? Grrrr
I’ve been watching the show since mid first season.and been watching faithfully every season every week.im a big fan! It saddens me though it seems like “abc” cancels every show I enjoy huh.i Really hope someone picks up the show Wednesdays isn’t Wednesdays without NASHVILLE.BRING IT BACK ,,BRING IT BACK
Absolutely, I’m African american , I don’t listen to country music, but I love Nashville. The actors are great and the songs are amazing. And there is no other voice like Scarlett’s. ABC has had an history of canceling great shows like American Dreams and Fear Factor. Nashville is the only show I look forward to watching on Wednesday nights. No other show can bill it’s void.
