Nashville will air an all-new episode on ABC later tonight, but fans know the end is near. The network cancelled the series last week, but there is still hope. With the people behind the series actively looking for a new home, it is possible that the series could return for a fifth season.
However, Connie Britton has already shared a message with her fans about the cancellation of the series on social media. She shared the following message after the news broke, according to TV Line:
“To the amazing friends and family who are Nashville, to the cast and crew, and most of all to the fans…I’d just like to say it’s been my honor to be a part of this world, to live in it and breathe it in and try to replicate it. Sometimes we were more successful than others. But the place of Nashville in my heart is deep and permanent. I am grateful for the hard work and faith of so many who dedicated themselves to creating and supporting this show. And I am forever changed for the better. Thanks for the music.”
According to TV Guide, the actress also spoke about the cancellation of the series on a talk show appearance earlier this week. Nashville has been a big part of her life. She has raised her adopted son there since 2011. She said the following:
“I’ll talk to my Nashville friends, and they’re all devastated. It’s a real bummer also for the town too. I’m going to miss those people so much. I’m so upset, then I talk to my friends in L.A., and they’re like, ‘We’re so happy you’re coming home.’ So I’m just like, I don’t know what I feel! [My son is] 5, and we’ve been doing the show there for four years, so it’s a big deal. It’s over. The end of an era. I think he’s going to just ditch me now because he’s like, ‘I’m staying in Nashville now. These people are cool. I’m learning how to play the drums. See you later.'”

I can’t believe Modern Family and The Middle are returning after two boring, silly seasons, while Nashville with great music and decent plot lines is cancelled. Who makes these decisions?
Are you kidding me? I don’t know ANYONE that doesn’t watch this show. Bring it back or I won’t watch ABC.
Can’t believe that this amazing show is done. It’s heartbreaking to think that it’s going to end. Please reconsider bringing it back. Such a shame !!!!!!
This has been the best show on TV since it started. Matter of fact, this has been my favorite and I looked forward to Wednesday nights. Not sure what I will have to watch now.

ABC does it again….drops great programming in order to save a few dollars on production cost. Sitcoms, reality and comedy shows are cheap to produce. This is the time for CBS, NBC or FOX to step up and grab “Nashville.”
I am so sad that ABC has cancelled Nashville. It is a great show with awesome actors/singers and music. It definitely made me appreciate country music even more. The show has relevant and engaging topics while most of today’s TV is superficial at best. It is sad that it seems networks are bringing shows on and off so hastily that it is hard to keep up. I am shocked and very disappointed to hear that Nashville has been cancelled. It is my favorite show on ABC. I hope they can find a new home on another network. It is way to soon for Nashville to end!
Please do not let this be the end of Nashville I am so sad… it can’t be over yet this was a huge shock to me. I hope another network sees how many people love this show and do not want to see it go. ABC is insane to cancel what are they thinking so incredibly disappointed
Well hearing the news of Nashville being cancelled did not make me a happy follower. This is such a great program. No vulgar language, No raunching sex scenes. Just a great feel good program, love the music and actors/actresses . ABC should really think this decision more carefully.
Nashville is one of my favourite shows!! I couldn’t believe it was being cancelled. :/ ABC is pretty consistent with cancelling all of my favourite shows though.
I am very disappointed about the cancellation of Nashville. It’s one of my favorite shows–great writing, directing, acting, and of course the most wonderful music. I wish ABC would reconsider or that perhaps another network would consider picking it up. It’s way too soon to say goodbye.
I am certain abc could cancel some other series that doesn’t bring so much joy in family’s home

I AM SOOOO UPSET. Nashville is my favorite show! So much talent and good writers and story line, still hoping there is enough backlash that they will reconsider or another network will be smart enough to pick it up! Whoever made this decision was WRONG!
I cannot believe abc would cancel Nashville, the music that has come out of this series is absolutely amazing. It is my favorite TV show ever and I am so sad that they have decided to cancel this series. I am not sure what was behind ABC decision to cancel, but I think it is a serious mistake.
