Nashville will air an all-new episode on ABC later tonight, but fans know the end is near. The network cancelled the series last week, but there is still hope. With the people behind the series actively looking for a new home, it is possible that the series could return for a fifth season.
However, Connie Britton has already shared a message with her fans about the cancellation of the series on social media. She shared the following message after the news broke, according to TV Line:
“To the amazing friends and family who are Nashville, to the cast and crew, and most of all to the fans…I’d just like to say it’s been my honor to be a part of this world, to live in it and breathe it in and try to replicate it. Sometimes we were more successful than others. But the place of Nashville in my heart is deep and permanent. I am grateful for the hard work and faith of so many who dedicated themselves to creating and supporting this show. And I am forever changed for the better. Thanks for the music.”
According to TV Guide, the actress also spoke about the cancellation of the series on a talk show appearance earlier this week. Nashville has been a big part of her life. She has raised her adopted son there since 2011. She said the following:
“I’ll talk to my Nashville friends, and they’re all devastated. It’s a real bummer also for the town too. I’m going to miss those people so much. I’m so upset, then I talk to my friends in L.A., and they’re like, ‘We’re so happy you’re coming home.’ So I’m just like, I don’t know what I feel! [My son is] 5, and we’ve been doing the show there for four years, so it’s a big deal. It’s over. The end of an era. I think he’s going to just ditch me now because he’s like, ‘I’m staying in Nashville now. These people are cool. I’m learning how to play the drums. See you later.'”
The finale for the series will air next Wednesday night. Do you want another network to come in and save Nashville from the grim reaper? Tell us what you think.

Can’t believe it. Don’t do this!!! – keep Nashville going. Love the music, love the actors and actresses and look forward to each episode. Please save the show.
I love this show! Please save it. So much crap on tv, but these characters are so current.
PLEASE don’t cancel Nashville! Agree with other comments, way too many loose ends to keep in a single “series finale.” What a silly idea. These “business decisions” made for the networks are certainly not made for the fans!!???? Who is this entertainment made for then, may I humbly ask? For crying out loud. . . and don’t even get me started on the unbelievable music from this show. No other show can even touch it!!
Love Nashville! Would love another network to pick it up! Not ready for it to go!!!
I will be watching for the next season too be picked up by another network. I really enjoy watching Nashville.
Keep Nashville going no matter what, its worth it!!
Fully agree it was a sad day in our house when we heard the news my wife and I look forward everyweek to watch the show infact we needed to go to the Nashville tour because they seem to have become part of our family
ABC has lost their minds!! Nashville and Castle are the only shows that’s had a solid following. I really hope there’s a network that has the sense to pick them up therefore giving the public absoluty no reason to turn their TV’s to the ABC network!!
Why do networks cancel good shows that actually have meaning and a good story behind it. Do you know how many times I have teared up watching this showing and loving the music in it. I’m so disappointed that this show is even being thought of canceled. Just another dissapointing move from these aweful networks. If there is one more stupid reality show put on the air I will puke. I pray another network will pick this show up and show it the respect its writer and talent deserves.
Please give us Nashville Fans a proper finale!!! We love this show so much that it is not fair to have us become so invested, only to have it ripped from us! Please finish season 5!!!
NO!!! Don’t take Nashville away. This is the only TV series I will actually watch. I have it recorded every Wednesday because I work late and can’take catch it when it first airs. Nashville has been my go to show for days I’ve not felt very well I will do a Nashville Marathon as I lie in bed sick. PLEASE KEEP NASHVILE!!! #SAVENASHVILLE
So disappointed in ABC for canceling a great show! Why can’t quality tv programming make it? Come on ABC.
I would love to see Nashville picked up by another network. I look forward to seeing the show every week!!!!
I could not be more disappointed in ABC’s decision to cancel Nashville. I have been a die hard fan since it began. I love the actors and the music and look forward to watching each week. ABC you are cancelling great shows and losing me as a viewer. I will switch to another station in protest of this very sad, very poor decision. If another network picks up Nashville they will have my loyalty.
I would LOVE for Nashville to find a new home – the people on the show – the music – I love it all. So much TV is violent death and destruction or silly past the point of watching – It was wonderful to have a great show, with wonderful actors and musicians. Will be MUCH missed
Please! It is my favorite show….I love the music, the actors, the story lines… Not always agreed with it…I can not imagine not seeing it any more…..please!
