TV show description:
This talent competition pits aspiring country musicians against one another as they compete for three big prizes: a pick-up truck, a performance at the Grand Ole Opry, and a recording contract.
Each week, contestants prepare and perform a song for a live audience and a panel of celebrity judges (who also act as mentors). Judges have included writer Robert K. Oermann, director of artist development Tracy Gershon, singer/songwriter Charlie Robison, country radio DJ Billy Greenwood, vocal duo The Warren Brothers, songwriter Phil Vassar, music producer Anastasia Brown, rock musician Bret Michaels, singer Randy Owen, country star Blake Shelton, singer/songwriter Jeffrey Steele, singer John Rich and singer/songwriter Jewel.
Once the celebrity judges have had their say about the performances, the audience is invited to vote for their favorite via phone or online. Competitors who are safe from elimination perform during the following week’s show. At the end of the episode, the two singers who’d received the fewest number of votes wait to see who will get to croon their song for the crowd and who will leave the competition.
Hosts for the series have included Jewel, TV presenter Nancy O’Dell, country music stars Leann Rimes, Wynona, and Billy Ray Cyrus along with co-hosts comedian Cletus T. Judd, country rap artist Cowboy Troy, and TV presenter Katie Cook.

I thought that was one of the best shows. they had an outstanding cast with an interesting story line. why does the network always take the good ones off and leave the lousy ones?
Nashville Star was one of the best singing contest. I have been waiting for it to come back on. I really hope fox picks it up , because I have truly missed it.
ARe you kidding me?? I love this show! I think they are making a HUGE mistake by taking this off the air. If they cancel this show, they should cancel American Idol too. Why can’t we both exist??
*Goes off and cries in her corner……..*
thats not fair taking it off that air, its unfair for other country singing dreamers
Great news fox is taken over nashville star
I think you are messing up not putting Nashville Star back on. It was a great show with lots of following. Most shows on tv now are trash. It was nice to have something worth watching on.
I have been very ill with many serious health problems in the last year and a half and the following shows gives me a reason to laugh and enjoy life and even if only for a few hours it helps me not to think about the pain and saddness and fear of not knowing if i will even be alive to watch the next show and these shows help me have a ittle joy since i havent been able to do much else. I really wish these shows could continue and i know there are many more like me out… Read more »
just started watching Nashville Stars last year . Really liked it. My babe and I logged on and voted . I have also been waiting for the show to come back on this year. What happened. We are very disappointed to here it was cancelled after I found this page. I would figure you had a big response on people watching the show. I know you had enough people there in person. You need to bring the show back for your viewers.
@Chris: Sorry, it’s been cancelled.
When is Nashville Stars coming back on?
