Getting a jump on the week of network announcements, NBC released a first look at their upcoming primetime schedule for Fall of the 2010-11 season.
As was expected, NBC will have a lot of new programming on the schedule next season. When The Jay Leno Show didn’t work out, that left execs with five hours of empty space to fill. And now, they’ve also cancelled many of their under-performing shows. That means that they’ll have seven hours of new shows each week — essentially a third of their schedule. Come mid-season, you can expect even more freshman shows to join in.
New to the schedule are The Event, Chase, Law & Order: Los Angeles, Love Bites, Outlaw (formerly Garza), Outsourced, School Pride, and Undercovers.
Joining the peacock network in midseason (or sooner if other shows tank) are The Cape, Friends with Benefits, Harry’s Law, The Paul Reiser Show (formerly Next), and Perfect Couples.
Returning for a third season, Parks and Recreation, is being held until mid-season. Chuck, which was held until mid-year this season, will reappear in the fall.

What do you think of NBC’s new schedule?
YESSSSS…I LOVE LAW AND ORDER SVU, I have been watching this show forever, I NEVER MISS AN EPISODE. LOVVVVVE THAT ELIOTT STABLER. AND OLIVIA IS OFF THE CHAIN….YOU GO GURRLLLLL 🙂
Except for Sunday Night Football, I wouldn’t care if the 4 button on my remote stopped working! What demagraphic are you guys going after? Seems to me you got a lock on the Deaf, Dumb and Blind!!!! Oh and Law and Order doesn’t compare to CBSs’ CSI series! You guys need to stop highering college grads and start grabbing people off the street. It’s the people that know what they want, not some fresh out of college wet nose. All they know is how to party and need a job to payback their student loans. NBC WAKE UP!!!!! And smell the… Read more »
dump this show.. I never plan to watch it .. I did love Mercy too .. it was sad that it didnt work out. It’s a tought business for some new show to make it a live but sometime good shows poor ratings don’t get renewed.
About Mercy, it was canceled because of poor number of viewers. 8.38 million U.S. viewers watched the premiere, only 4.01 million watched the finale, the numbers kept dropping all through the season. After the 10th episode especially, “I Saw This Pig and I Thought of You”, the ratings dropped significantly (Viewers stayed at over 7 million before that, then dropped in the 5`s and then in the 4`s and finally in the 3`s).
Get rid of all the stupid reality shows, they all suck and bring back Mercy
Mercy and Heroes are cancelled b/c they suck… SVU will continue b/c it doesn’t. No boycotting for me..
New schedule sucks, what’s with all the low budget reality shows?? Will miss Mercy thank goodness NBC is bringing back Parenthood. At least I have HBO so all is not lost.
So yea… I won’t be watching NBC at all this year. They cancelled Mercy and Heroes. I fell in love with Mercy, and have been a huge fan of Heroes since season 2. And wow… surprise surprise… ANOTHER Law And Order… Its like the damn CSI franchise… its just way too much… i truly hope that Mercy gets picked up by another network… it has a huge internet following… i really hope that NBC sees the errors of their ways… but i plan on boycotting that network anyways… their new fall line up just makes it insanely simple.
